And if you're not willing to do that, then don't come crying to me. Her mother's words sprung to mind more than ever in this place... Water rushed by, threatening to drown and sweep away, cascading over a cliff. So very high... Any beast that should slip would certainly die, dashed to bits on the rocks below. She shuddered.

And the stallion. Oh, she wished she could skip that part - any stallion could, and likely would, claim her as his own. She didn't really mind being under his command. Her neutral nature had no objections to that. But the fact that she might become even more attached... That would lead to more pain. Separation would surely kill her, this time, if she were to be foolish enough to let herself get that dependant.

The grullo was shifting her weight uncomfortably from foot to foot, the water and the altitude making her jittery. She swore that she just couldn't get any air into her lungs, and that in itself was enough to set in a bit of hyperventilation. "Halo..." she started, looking back to where the King of these lands stood, "...it's quite nice here. Really," she added, forcing a smile and sidestepping away from the water quickly.

The Lord turns his head for his gaze to give its attention to Emi as she speaks to him, a little surprised that her words were not riddled with difficult syllables that he would not understand. And there is something else there, worry, fear, apprehension? Halo does not wish to be the cause of any of these terrible emotions and so as she sidesteps away he follows cautiously, ready to leave her space at a moment's notice. "Emi?" he asks, just about the roar of the falls, a worried look etched across his facade. He leans forward to lightly brush his muzzle on hers before drawing back and tilting his head.

"Does the waterfall frighten you? We can go down the hill to the forests; maybe visit the lake. If you want to." He speaks as gently as he can manage while still trying to make himself heard above the noise around them. The sound seems to fill the air around them, invading their ears. So, assuming the falls is the problem, he nudges her shoulder and motions with his head before walking at a leisure pace away from the scene towards the slope that would descend towards the trees below.

She subconsciously follows the direction of the nudge, as if she were some tiny foal with her dam. But her dam had never given that much guidance to the female twin. Always for Kito.

Emi glanced back at the waterfall, pausing. It would be so easy, really... to go see them again... and be with them forever... All it would take is one little "slip" in exactly the wrong place... The stallion moved away, and the motion caught her eye. She followed him, keeping her head low. Best to not hint at trying to be even somewhat dominant.

"The coppice sounds congenial," she said. She'd slipped back into her normal mode of speech now that she was feeling a bit more comfortable. The lake didn't seem to appeal to her so much... Deep, clear water... the surface would seem so tauntingly close while you sunk away to your death. She could not stand it. No lake.

She paused to crop some grass, get her mind off their current track. The dirt smelled good here, at least. It had many seasons' leaf loam decomposed and lending themselves to the health of all. It was a good place.

Halo has no idea what in the world she had said. He doesn't allow it to bother him, but he doesn't exactly make it know that he doesn't understand either. The brute just grins and trots ahead with a twist of his head and a flick of his tail, heading to the waters edge where he lowers his head to drink several gulps of the cool, sweet liquid. The water always tastes better here then it does anywhere else. Halo calls it the taste of home. He lifts his crown to pivot his gaze in Emi's direction, snorting playfully in her direction. "Is it better here?"

She shot him a quick grin, feeling a bit better now. "It is... at least, that's the conclusion I've come to." She tried to translate her thoughts into language that the other might understand. A barrier in their communication would do neither of them good, and she did like this place. It was nice.

Emi pulled her head up quickly, pricking her ears in his direction, watching Halo for a little bit before returning to the sweet-smelling ground. She was curious about him, underneath her rather calloused exterior. But docility and apathy were the lessons the world had taught her, and such hard-learned morals were hard to suppress. So the question came out tentatively, and she hesitated often, searching for easily understandable words. "So... what do you think of the place? I mean... you must like it, as it is your home, indubitably." Ack. That had slipped out. She bit her bottom lip, and quickly corrected herself. "I mean.... but of course...."

Halo turns and looks at her when she spewaks again to him, asking him for his opinion on his terra. He smiles when she spits out a word from her large vocabulary and then tries to correct it with something more easily understood. He found her odd way of speaking very amusing, liking to see others being just themselves as well, but finding that he much more enjoys understanding what someone is trying to tell him. Not that he wants to be selfish or anything. But doesn't everyone want to understand things better?

He sweeps his gaze over the landscape, searching for an answer to her question. "Home is always sweeter than any other place," he says, turning a smile back to the mare. "The water is clear and good, the grass delectable and tasty, the company exsquisite, and the air just...peaceful." He grins, trying to wrap his tongue around some larger words just for her reaction. "I like it," he concludes shortly with a short bob of his head.

Emi chuckled, her head lowering quickly. Her two-toned mane fell in front of her face, hiding her quiet smile. She picked her head up after a moment, and picked her way over to the stream next to Halo.

"I... Well, it's markedly superior to other places I've resided in," she said, turning her face to the sky. The sun felt nice, and - he was right - the air did seem more peaceful. At least, now that she wasn't up quite so high in the air.

She put a hoof in the stream, letting it wet her hoof up to her pastern. It wasn't so bad. Almost tame, really. Definitely better than the falls, or the lake beneath. Emi removed her hoof, stomping it on the grassy bank to dry it. But, of course, she still far preferred dry ground.

It is satisfactory to him that his Symphony Falls stands out from all the rest, that means it’s special and unique, memorable. Maybe that means he’s memorable, too, and that makes him feel good. Who doesn’t want to be remembered? He can’t think of even just one. Either way, he feels good spirits lift his heart from his chest and he trots forward with a toss of his head and straight into the water of the river. Picking his legs up high, he trots through the shallows, throwing water up in every direction. He whinnies playfully and drops his face to the water, splashing it in a way that he can try to get Emi wet.
