Starnile ended up following Moon. Her acute hearing picked up the faint human voices.
"Aw, they're gone." "Oh well. Let's go swimming!"
She slowed to a halt in the meadows. "Moon," she called. "They're not following. We're fine." her sides heaved with effort, and her breath was short from running for her life. Humans meant death or pain, two choices she did not want to choose. She had reacted so quickly... had Moon known what they were?

Panic died away from Blue Moon's mind the farther they got from the strange creatures. It was obvious they couldn't follow, no thing on two legs would be fast enough to chase a galloping horse. As his panic faded however, Moon found himself falling back into a subconscious rhythm, the one he followed when he was alone and there was nothing between him and the horizon except a little distance. His stride became less panicked and choppy, instead becoming smoother with his muscles flexing easily under his blue roan pelt. Black tresses and banner flared out behind him, whipping with the wind. In the back of his mind Moon was barely aware of Starnile galloping behind him and then slowing. Why she was slowing he had no idea. The humans were far from his mind and now the nearby mountains beyond the meadows and forests were looking inviting.
Starnile's words brought Blue Moon back to earth however. Skipping a beat in his gallop, Moon forced himself to slow to a canter and then a trot, turning a wide circle and heading back to where he'd left Starnile behind. Approaching the mare, Moon arched his neck so his chin nearly touched his chest and let out a low nicker, pawing at the grass.
"I guess its good those things aren't chasing us" Moon remarked, looking over Starnile's shoulder along the path they had come. "But I'm going to be heading out now. If those weird things are around here, I'm not hanging around, probably head to the mountains or something."
Blue Moon flicked his tail and looked toward the mountains again. After a long moment he looked back at Starnile. "It's been nice meeting you Starnile but its time for me to run"
Wheeling away from Starnile, Moon reared up and launched himself forward into a flat gallop again, heading for the mountains away from Starnile and the strange creatures. Company was nice but solitude was safer. Moon let his normal rhythm of running and being alone take him in its embrace.

Starnile felt like a bomb landed her. So he didn't care. She wheeled around and raced away, away from the beach toward the Rainbow Jewel Labrynith, her eyes watery and her head was foggy. She ran till her legs hurt, and she felt the blood rushing around her, hot in her ears. ((K, this is done ))
