Ranks
- King/Queen - The Leaders of the Herd.
- Heir/Heiress - Chosen colt/filly out of the King's Queen. (Other foals that are listed are foals the King may produce with his queen other than the heir/ess or from other mares. The Queen is expected not to breed with any but the King.)
- Lady-in-Waiting - The Lady-in-Waiting is a mare with more power than a beta mare and yet less than the Queen. Should there be no Queen at the time she assumes the position (may be permanent or temporary.
- Love Foals - Illegitamate children from the Lady-in-Waiting.
- Beta Stallion/Mare - The Leaders' Second-in-Command.
- Lead Warrior - Protectors and Guardians of the herd.
- Warriors - Members that have shown considerable loyalty and battle prowess, they serve the King and Queen beneath the Lead Warrior.
- Members - Regular members of the herd.
- Foals - The offspring of the herd, ranked according to their parents' ranks.
- Slave Mares - The lowest rank of the herd. Slave mares are only kept around to beat on, spread bloodlines and increase the herd. Mares who are disrespectful/disobedient may be subject to the punishment of being bumped to this rank.
- Slave Stallions - The lowest rank for stallions in the herd. Their only purpose is to be around to cure a bad temper and to collect mares for the herd.
- Slave Foals - Foals from slave parents or from a slave mare.
The Rules
- The King's word is law, insubordination and betrayals will not be tolerated.
- The Queen is in charge should the King be out of the terra. At this time her word is also law!
- The Betas are second in command to the King and Queen. Must be trusthworthy. They are acting leads when the King and Queen are not present and assume their duties until their Leads return.
- The King can install a Beta Stallion and the Queen will choose a Beta Mare. Do not necessarily need to be mates, but must work together (whether they like each other or not). With the amount of responsibility they have, if they are found not cooperating, the penalty could be severe for possibly endangering the herd's safety.
- If a Beta shows insubordination, and it is seen fit, they will be discharged from their position and returned to member status.
- The Lead Warrior aids in protecting and defending the herd. Though it is primarily the King's job to protect the herd, the Warriors were set up to insure that it is done. Often they guard the borders and deflect possible threats.
- The Lead Warrior can be a mare or stallion.
- Warriors are loyal first to the King and Queen before anyone else. They serve them under the Lead Warrior.
- A foal's rank/importance is determined by their parents' rank.
- Any stallion member of the herd may bring home mares/foals, but they are considered foremost the King's.
- Members can breed amongst themselves with permission from the King. Again it should be remembered that any offspring that are born into the herd are considered the King's.
- The King can breed with any mare he chooses from the herd.
- Any member (no matter rank) may not take leave of the herd (meaning leave it for good) without the permission of the King.
