The Ranks

Young Ones
These are the youngest three ranks in a pack. They are from birth to 8 moons (8 months).

ºNewborn--birth until 3 moons (pretty much as long as they stay in the den)
ºPup--3 moons
ºYouth--5-8 moons, learns how to hunt and fight by watching older wolves

Three ranks
After graduating from the Young Ones category, a wolf becomes one of the Three Ranks. First, they start as a Defender, then a Hunter, and finally, a Combatant. Depending on their skill and intelligence, the Alphas will place the loners who wish to join in any.

ºDefender-- lowest rank, defends and guards the camp
ºHunter-- middle-lowest rank, defends and guards and hunts prey
ºCombatant-- highest rank, most respected of the Three Ranks, does all three chores if needed, fights in battles

Upper Ranks
Only four wolves, chosen by the Alpha pair, reach this level. The wovles are trustable and respected. Each Beta and Alpha will have a mate.
