OOC: This is assuming Denver followed Jynx back. He's gotten ahead of her.
BIC: Denver was following after her new lord, Jynxed Halo, into his home of Symphony Falls. Finally, a herd of her own. The mahogany mare had been among herds and had traveled throught herdlands before, but the fact that she belonged in Symphony Falls made this place unique.
She entered the meadows and tried to catch up to Jynxed Halo. But Denver was a tad bit distracted at the moment and was bound to lose her way. Her heart beat fast and high and she felt as if it was about to fly into pieces from the joy of finally belonging somewhere. She worked to draw sufficient breath as she walked through the territory of the Falls. She was almost afraid that the river and the grass and the falls would all disappear and she would find herself in some cozy hollow on the Greenway. But it never happened. The ground below her hooves stayed solid and blessedly real.
Denver walked through the valley, getting more and more distracted both because of her own ecstasy and all of the things to see. Granted, there wasn't that much to see in the grassy meadow, but this one could find something. Her heart sang and despite the people around her, she laughed aloud for heart's ease and heart's joy. She saw everything more clearly than she ever had in her entire life. She remembered that she needed to keep up with Jynx but that was pushed to the back of her mind by the joy that flooded her soul.
-Hours Later-
At first, Denver thought nothing of how long she'd been traipsing around Symphony Falls. Then it hit her - Jynxed Halo! She was very very alone, with the stallion nowhere in sight. "Oh spirits," she whispered, and started running. The embarrassed mare raced the length of the valley without spotting Jynx. She was lost.
"Hello?" she called hesitantly. "Help?"

Jynxed Halo had not realized that he had lost Denver until she was nowhere in sight, turning about and finding her gone in every direction. He whinnies her name but the only sound the comes back to him is the echo of his own voice in flickering harks. He releases a groaning sigh, knowing it could take a while for him to locate the missing mare in the dark. But, with duty calling, he forces his tired pillars to move him back in the direction from whence he came, all senses searching for Denver.
Symphony Falls is a safe place, leaving the King's worries for other matters as he treks over the terra's land in an unhurried pace, shouting towards the sky to make himself known in case she is near about and would come to him. Thinking he heard something, he stops and perks his ears up with his head lifted high and eyes scanning. Halo can feel a faint trace of hooves through the earth and his keen sense of hearing picks up Denver's voice. So he calls out again and, with a snort of excitement, trots in the direction he had noted her presence. "Denver! I'm here!" ~Jynxed Halo

Denver heaved a relieved sigh as Jynx's blessed vocals fell on her ear and she ran to him. Closing in on the stallion, she pressed close to him in the dark. "I'm sorry!" she panted. "I'm sorry I got lost, everything was just so interesting and I got distracted and then I looked up and you weren't there and I was scared and I didn't know what to do or where to go and-" Realizing she was gabbling like a fool, the bay took several calming breaths before drawing herself up and stepping away from her liege. "I apologize," she said smoothly, a stark contrast to her previous state. Denver was still shaken, but she was determined not to lose it again.

“No need to apologize,” he states calmly, allowing the fae to press against him for whatever comfort she seeks or needs. Halo wishes to be for his herd whatever they need him to be. He dips his head slightly to nuzzle Denver gently, giving the gesture a small bit of warmth for affection. There is no reason not to feel affection towards those of his herd, even if the vixen doesn’t happen to be his queen. It’s his duty to care. “You’re okay now,” he whispers soothingly and smiles. ~Jynxed Halo

Denver felt his touch and warmth spread through her. Perhaps he was the one for her! But no, she banished that idea as quickly as it spawned. He likely already had a queen and an heir or two running about in this beautiful place of his. The mulberry-marked mare realized that Jynxed Halo, even though he was her herd lord, would not, in all probability, be her lover. However, it was colder out now that the sun was setting and she stayed close to him for heat's sake. And also for safety's sake: She had no interest in being lost again.
Where are the rest of your herd? Your queen?
Denver hoped she did not seem too forward in asking this, but she was curious to meet the lady that had captured the heart of this fine stag, the lady who would be her new mistress here at Symphony Falls. Denver hoped she was nice and not snobbish, like some lead mares she had known in her life. But all there was to do was wait, and find out.

Halo does not make a move to break the physical contact shared between them, offering to her willingly his body heat and security. It’s what he’s here for. But the question she puts to him nearly makes him think about it, though his will wins over the pain that twisted abusively in his heart. The stag’s harks swivel back and he averts his eyes like no king should as his mind tries to put an answer together from the pieces of breaking heart. Slowly he shakes his skull, heaving a heavy sigh and exhaling deeply from a parted maw.
“I...I have not seen my queen...or my princess...in many weeks. It’s like they...vanished…off the face the planet.” He bites the side of his tongue to help him force back the tears that glisten in the moonlight, keeping his face turned away so that Denver can not see the hurt that is there. And he thinks he did a fairly good job of keeping the pain from his voice; he can only hope. ~Jynxed Halo

Though Jynx's voice was level and gave nothing away, Denver could guess how much it hurt the heart of this sweet stallion to have his loves missing in action. She nosed his side comfortingly. The pretty mare didn't know what else to do for him except stay near him and let him know she cared.
Jynx, I'm so sorry. Is there any way I can help? Search parties I can join? I'll probably only get lost again though...
Her voice trailed off after making a weak stab at lightening the moment. Though she'd only known Jynxed Halo about a day, she'd already become attached and her heart was breaking for him. Denver always had been a sensitive and compassionate soul, always a sucker for one in pain. But despite this, she was clumsy at dealing with another's pain. Thus there were no other words she could think of to speak to him, so she simply stood close to him, giving him comfort by the touch of her nose on his shoulder.

Halo bends his neck to turn a smile towards Denver, accepting her gentle nudges of comfort. He appreciates it, more than she might know. It is hard living without the knowledge of where his mate might have gone, but he knows he can't focus so much on it. But when he breaks down and is unable to keep from grieving over it, at least he can be assured that others can understand. The stag touches his nose lightly to hers. "Thank you," he whispers, closing his eyes and feeling a wave of refreshment sweep over him. "Just knowing you care is enough." ~Jynxed Halo

Are you sure?
Denver met Jynxed Halo's saddened eyes and looked deep into them. On the surface, he seemed so easy to understand. But the bay had learned there was often more to a person than what first met one's eye. So she stared at him for a long while until the sun, which had been gradually sinking lower and lower for the past few minutes, finally sunk to it's rest below the horizon. The sky stayed lit for a little longer, holding onto the day. But finally night took hold and darkness fell completely. Denver shivered. She was tired after the excitement of the day and she wanted to sleep. But she would not rest before she knew she had done everything she could for her king. OOC: One crappy post deserves another, so here you go. Sorry for the wait.

Halo wants nothing more than to get out of this conversation, to turn the focus from himself to Denver. He is not used to be the center of attention, the center of anything really, and he feels a little uncomfortable with it now. He is so used to putting everyone else first, looking out for all the others' interest and setting their needs over his...that he rarely ever lets someone just take care of him. Now, all he wants, is to take care of Denver right now, to change the subject and get back to what he's good at...taking care of other equines. "You look tired," he states calmly with a kk!gentle smile. "We should get some rest. Tomorrow is another day." ~Jynxed Halo

Denver made a noise deep in her throat. Avoider. But very well, if he wanted to be that way, she was really very tired. She touched his muzzle with hers lightly.
Thank you. For everything.
Denver wasn't really accustomed to Jynx yet and couldn't read his body language all that well yet. Especially since it was dark out now. But there were certain signs common to all stallions, signs that blared 'UNCOMFORTABLE'. Jynx was exhibiting a few of those now. So she decided to leave him be.
Is it okay to sleep right here, or is there some other place I should go? I don't want to be any more trouble than I have been already.

"If this is where you wish to sleep. Or there is the forest down the hills of the falls where you can bed down." Whichever she should decide, he will be there to watch over her through the night. But he does not open his mouth to express it, keeping a firm grasp on his tongue lest he speak anything stupid. He has already made himself look like a stubborn fool in front of her, he does not need to make things worse. ~Jynxed Halo

Denver nodded and slumped to the ground right where she was standing. Her bulk made a nice indent in the grass and she fussed a minute or two before settling down. She looked up at Jynx and blinked a few times.
Here is fine. Thank you. Have a good night. The mare closed her eyes and sighed contentedly. What a day. A home, a lord, just about everything that was on her wish list had come her way today. Now all she had to do was find a lover. No trouble there; there were probably several eligible bachelors about. Denver put the trouble of finding one right out of her mind for the time being and concentrated on daydreaming of married life until she fell into sleep. OOC: I think we're done here, yes?
