Waiting for the light of dawn XXThe darker colored palomino mare made her way silently threw the unfamiliar area. Being new was no way to start a life, expecially for an equine as… odd as she. Not that she cared much. She could survive with out giving to much away. NOT! Er, well… Not before. But this time she will be really careful. No one will know a thing about her. Will they? No one would see a thing about the real color of her coat. No one would know about her past. No one would Know Anything.
XXThe mare kept her head down as she walked, staying in the shadows to avoid that soft sunlight that was streaming down from the heavens. Oh how she longed for the warmth. She had been freezing lately. It was so much warmer at home, not that she could really do anything about it. She sighed as she walked, shivering slightly every so often. She desired the sun right now, but it was denied from her. She didn’t want her coat to be effected as it tended to be from the sun. She needed her cover if she was to survive her.
XXHer long white hair, for it appeared white in the shadows, fluttered over her luminescent blue orbs. Covering most of her dark colored façade. The mud had dried in a manner, that it appeared to be her coat, her natural color. No one would, not even those next to her, should notice it was mud. Er so she hoped. She’d rather not have to try and explain why her coat was a brilliant gold, that seemed so out of this world. She didn’t feel like explaining anything at all to these equines. She didn’t know them. Heavens, she didn’t even know their way of thinking. So what was she to do??? She was indeed at a lost.
XX’Tisn’t fair what thou must goith threw for this place.. She thought in her natural language, old English. She couldn’t get the hand of the my, yours, shes. Hes and such. It was all to confusing. So she just didn’t speak to anyone any more. Rather be thought a mute, or shy then be looked at strange for speaking a different way right? It was always easier for her to speak to herself when no one was around, and she wasn’t constantly asked… What? So she just talked to herself, alone, or didn’t at all.
XXAnd what a shame ‘twas too, for this mare had the voice… of a well… angel. In simple terms atleast. Her voice was soft, and filled with warmth to who ever she may be speaking to. Her lyrics were as sweet as honey, and coasted gently threw the air, lacing and smothering those who were listening. Another reason she never talked. She didn’t want any stallion to get the wrong idea. And try to go after her.
XXShe sighed as she continued her ways. The sun was at the highest point of it’s arch around the world, and she didn’t dare step our of the shadows with the sun duresctly over her. The mud covering her coat would crack, her coat would be seen shining gold Not to mention her tresses shining, shimmering, and sparkling. Nope she couldn’t go out in the sun. Correction, she couldn’t go out at all. Never in the sun. Never with out her covering. She couldn’t let anyone know about her. No one at all. And so far her dreams, and hard work was paying of. Or was it beacause she had no other way to do anything, and if anyone saw her… Well it would all be over now wouldn’t? Yep it would, and the thought did not cheer Tsura up in the least. But rather made her feel more and more lost in the oddities that surrounded her. She slowed her walk as she continued to walk, and had to focus her mind, to avoid no walking in the sun.
XXHer mind ran so easily, It was hard for her to keep anything straight, and that included where to walk it seemed. After all she seemed slightly drunk the way she was swaying and had to often resettle herself, moving slightly one way or another to avoid the sun. It was always so much easier in dark, but that was still so many hours away. Tsura longed for a place where she wouldn’t have to hide who she was, though she knew no place would do that. She was doomed to be hidden as she always was here. Give or take a few information, or such.
XXAs Tsura walked, her steps where quick and graceful,a as well as agile. She had an elegance to her, that was rare to equines, and you had to be born with it. She had the air of someone who was, or once was important. For her it was the latter. She was once very important. But that was the past. And she can’t change the past. Now could she?
XXNot that she would if she could. The chain reaction of bad things that would happen… well it would be dangerous. And she wasn’t fond of danger, though she could defiantly take care of herself, and then some. But, naturally, She was always the one to put others first.. Take care of them before herself, and then she can make sure she was doing okay.
XXTsura yawned slightly, growing equasted. She was tired, and had spent half the night up, caring for a small baby deer who had been dehydrated. She knew her steps where a little uncordnated then usual, but still above average, to her emense hate. She searched fore a ahady spot to sit. She was relieved to finally be able to hid in the shadows. She curled up, wishing, not for the first time, to be a wolf or something seriously similar. She would be abe to curl up tightly, tock her tail over nose. She knew that if she tried to do that, it would indeed look reducolse. And she would be scorned…. Again. But atleast now, no one can send her home or what ever. She didn’t have a home…
XXShe didn’t have anything. She was compeletely alone in this large mixed up world. But the odd thing was, she really didn’t care. She wasn’t sure she wanted anything from this world, when she could so easily leave, and return to hers. What would be the point in finding something here, it would only hurt the equines she would let get close enough, and herself, if she lets herself get close to them in turn. No, she wouldn’t do such a thing, it wouldn’t be fair for either side.
XXShe looked around herself, trying to really figure out where she was. She figured she was in the Claiming Lands, but what exactly was the point of claiming her, when she could easily be sent back home in a few days, or weeks? She didn’t really know. All she knew, so far, was that she had yet to be returned. But why have her people not sent for her? Did they no longer want her?
XXSnorting angrily, she cantered to a large willow tree, that was sitting next to a clear crystal stream. She felt a pluck of her heartstring, it was similar to the meeting place at her home. Similar, though, not exact. She pushed herself threw the long limbs, that in someplaces touched the ground. As she walked to a spot under the tree, she felt the air change into a color air, and she smiled with relief. She lay under the tree, the soft long grace cushioned her. She wondered if anyone would see the dark almost brown palomino under the tree, she bet they would if she took of the mud, but dared not to. She would be to frightened of what may happen to do that, no… She’d just hope silently to be either left alone, or if confronted, for the equine to not care enough when she didn’t reply, or what ever.
XXShe looked out across the water, and wished to see what she once had… A long time ago. Her eyes fogged slightly, as she remembered her home, and what she had to leave behind. And her heart longed to return. Even though the thought was so positive, such a desire. The hurt of knowing that it would probably never happen haunted her. And the scenes she had seen haunted her dreams at night.
XXNight, probably one of the best and worst times for the femora. She was free to be, well free, and didn’t have to hide herself at this time, but she also was subject to the demons of her past, who chased after her in the dark. But it was daylight… the only time, that she was natures captive, for nature determined if she would live unseen another day, or if all would see her as she really is… A freak, and outcast. One to be avoided.
XXA sudden defiance took up residency in the femme’s eyes, she wasn’t going to let the sun rule her, and determine her life. But even as she thought this, she stayed hidden in the shade, under the weeping willow tree she had found. She wondered if someone would come to her, or if she would be left alone till night. What was she going to do tonight, now that she was closer then usual to other equines, dare she take of her mask? And accidently show a passing equine what she really looks like. She dared not even let them see her as such, so she’d have to keep her mud cast, coat, mask… what ever you want to call it, on. Not like she could do anything about it now? She had chosen to come here, did she not. Now she’d have to deal with the consinquences. What where these you ask. She’d have to remain hidden behind the façade till she could once again be out on her own. When ever that may be…
XXSuddenly the vix’s head snapped up. The sound of approaching hoofsteps where heard, but she couldn’t tell anything from them. Her bright blue orbs searched the area for the source of the noise. She couldn’t find a plant, animal… thing out of place. She shook her head with relief when the sound disappeared. Little did she know that she had already been spotted.

The white King wandered Greenway Meadow again, taking stock of those he saw there. Not too much to offer, really... Integrated equines like himself were not too common. There was just he and Marred Darkness... he sighed. He really did long for a female companion, more than the near-daughter living with him on his lands. His lake.
He stopped at the running water, placing his large front hooves in the stream. It felt nice, relieving his weary feet. The tougher topsoil-on-bedrock of the Meadow was not so kind to his legs as the sand of his home. Dula chuckled a bit, wondering at how he had become so soft already in his short stay here.
Oulaman's quick ears picked up the slight sounds of a fae from the willow not 30 feet away, and he approached cautiously. Why was she hiding from the glorious light of day? He stopped, pushing the trailing fronds of the willow aside with his muzzle. She was... breathtaking, to say the least. An Arab, perhaps, just like his Phantom. But something else, too, apparent in the grace she displayed even while she merely stood. He was well aware of the breath leaving his agape maw in a small sigh.
"Excuse me, miss..." was all he got out, and all the immense stallion could do was smile in what he was sure was an idiotic grin at the mare. Simply beautiful.

Waiting for the light of dawn XXTsura looked up in surprise as a voice talked to her, bringing her out of her… slight daydream. She spun her cranium around, to look at the stallion that addressed her, ”Excuse me, miss…” Was all he said, and a rather idiotic grin was displayed upon his maw, as he looked at her. Tsura was unsure of how to reply. Should she just, or should she try for the way these equines of this land talked. She decided to go with her usual way. If he didn’t like then… ‘twould be to late for him to try for her. She looked at him with out-of-this world blue eyes. The color more vibrant then the sky overhead. The very sky she thought looked so dull, compared to her own homelands. Everything about this place was different from her kingdom. And it displeasure her so. All the colors here seemed to be so dull and lifeless. The grass to plain, the sky to dull. She was homesick that was for sure. But she couldn’t go back. Her home had lost their king, queen, and now princess, as she remains captive to her own world.
XXShe tilted her head to the side, before saying, in a soft, angelic voice, ”Good day, Mi’lord.” Her words were simple, but a foreign accent was also hinted at. Causing her words to sound enchanting… and would make one want more. It was not a thing she liked to admit. It made her feel odd, as she usually felt when compared to the equines of this land. But nothing she could do about it now.
XXHer long, snowy tassles fell down her mudcaked neck, the color of her tresses where unique. The white so pure, and literally sparkled and shimmered like moonlight. Almost like they would disenagrate if you so much as touched them. The mud that caked her body, that had been done in a manner to make it appear her natural coat, was beganing to crack slightly, and she knew that if she didn’t watch out, her bright gold pelt would be shown. It wasn’t something she would enjoy. To see a stag’s reaction to her… unique colors. The Gardenian mare… or Arabian, as they called it here, though she was still so different from an Arabian, looked at the stallion, her gaze questioning and curious. Why was he here, and what did he want from her exactly?
XXShe cautiousily let her lyrics float across the air, weaving a spell of enchantment, unknowingly, ”Who art thou? My dubbance be Tsura.” She spoke, her words slightly out of the ordinary, but where the common dialect for her home lands, and she had yet to get used to these normal equines way of talking. Not that she cared much. She’d live her life, they way she would in her own kingdom, minus the fact that she would no longer be royalty. Not that the though bothered her any. As the darkness continues to shroud me

"Tsura," he replied, running his mouth over the word. "I am Oulaman, but most simply call me Dula." He was fairly sure, now, that she thought him a fool. He would have to try to change that... he had been this way when faced with his first love. She had certainly been something.
The immense white stallion shouldered his way through the fronds as daintily as one of his girth could, shaking the clinging leaves out of the thick curls of his mane. The light filtered through the willow's screen in such a way that displayed his light silvery dapples in streaks and patches. In those patches of golden light, Tsura appeared to be... well, mudcaked, really. He wondered what color her coat was, underneath the dust and dirt.
Dula approached her slowly, burying his velvety nose in her luxurious mane, inhaling deeply. Such a strange scent... like nothing he'd ever encountered. Some spice or another, he guessed. But he was far from sure.

Waiting for the light of dawn XXThe edges of Tsura's kissers twitched up slightly, as he rolled her name around, repeating it... almost to himself. Then gave his name... Dula... It was original, and she liked it. She smiled slightly, as he seemed to shake twigs, and leaves from his curly mane. her own long mane was free of such debre. then, he took a step closer to her, and then another, till he was next to her. He buried his nose into her mane, and she shivered as she felt him inhale deeply. She wondered what she would smell of to him. Coming from a different world, it was probably a smell he wasn't use to. She giggled slightly, but pulled away, side stepping slightly, then brought her dial around to look at him, as she did so, she felt some of the mud upon her pelt shift, and fall away. Revealing the pure gold color beneath it. She inwardly growned, as she saw the bright color shine threw. The color was so... so... unnormal. So out of this world. She didn't know what to expect for his responce to her true color. But she was nervous of what he may say.
She didn't want another equine calling her a freak, and sending her away, but what was she to do? She was tied up at the moment. She sighed, and looked at her cloak. "Well... that hath not worked." She said softly. Shaking her head, as she gave him an embarressed smile. As the darkness continues to shroud me

He felt his eyes grow wide at the glorious expanse of color waiting where the mudcake had fallen away. Dula glanced away from it, meeting her eyes. She seemed rather flustered about it, and he didn't quite understand why she was embarrased of such beauty. He, after all, was the rather odd possessor of a dark green-hued mane and tail.
She was, then, fairly insecure about it. He sighed. Phantom had been strange, too, with her face split down the middle so. Sort of a half-bald face, the white covering the right half, darkness clouding the left. His Phantom had been so beautiful, in her own way.
The white stallion was not even aware that he had backed away until he looked at her again. He smiled at her. "There really is no need to hide such a beautiful thing here, M'Lady Tsura. There are no humans to covet what you were born with." He was not fully sure where the title had come from, but it seemed fitting for this mare.

Waiting for the light of dawn XXTsura watched as Dula’s eyes grew wide at the sight of her coat. She whinced inwardly, well great… Now this would be come intresting. Sure he was a little more normal then she, even if his mane and tail were dark green-hued. Her coat was as gold as… well… gold… She could give, Apollo god of the sun, a run for his money… with a coat like hers. She was shy now, nervous of what the stallion would say, then she watched as he sighed. Slowly the white stallion backed away, and she could breath again, and wonder if he was going to run away. Would she be surprised? Nope… Would she hold it against him? Nope…
XXHe looked at her, staying in place now. A smile covered his façade. And he slowly spoke, his words soft and gentle, ”There really in no need to hide such a beautiful thing here, M’Lady Tsure. There are no humans to covet what you were born with.” She had whinced at the title M’Lady. It had been used far to many times in her old home, and it was like a stab to the heart, a slice of home sickness. But then a confused look crossed her face… what was a human.
XXHer words were careful when she spoke, ”Pardon thee for asking, M’Lord… But what… art these humans ye speakith of?” She blushed, and looked away. Hoping he wouldn’t be surprised at such a question. Sure… Tsura knew of Unicorns, pegasi, Equines, and such animals of the horse variety… heavens, her mother’s made had been a centaur! But… She didn’t know what a… human was. What did they look like. Were they like Gardenians, with their unusual colors, and grace? Were they like Pegasi, and had wings.
XXShe hated not knowing things, it made her feel insignificant. She was cautious with her words, ”In Alexandria… thee recollections don’t bring memory of… a creature calledith humans.” Alexandria… Just saying the name sent a shiver of home sickness down her spine. Oh to return. To be welcomed there again… It would be magnificent… But right now… That seemed all but impossible. She didn’t even know if the stag was… gone… The evil stag who was set on her demise. He’d rid Alexandria of Her parents, but would he follow Tsura to earth? She didn’t know, nor did she care to find out… As the darkness continues to shroud me

He smiled. "Truly, you are fortunate not to have knowledge of these creatures. They are not equine - they walk on two legs and use their forelegs for hitting those of our species. They sit upon us, using us to make themselves feel superior to others of their kind." He paused, running his eyes over her now exposed coat. "They are greedy beyond all measure." Dula met her eyes again.
He reached out and touched her again with his nose, reassuring her as best he could. "They would most certainly want you for your beauty." His mind was made up now. He definitely wanted this mare with him in his lands... she was far too rare a find to pass up. And, who knows, perhaps they could become closer with time... He simply continued to gaze at her, there, under a willow.

Waiting for the light of dawn XXTsura giggled, and tossed her glowing white mane slightly. She watched Dula, as he smiled, and answered her question about… humans. They were not equine? They stood on two legs. She didn’t believe it was possible. She giggled again at the sight it brought to her mind. A mishapened figure with chicken legs, centaur arms, lion chest and mane, and a centaur head. It was an unusual… creature, she supposed. The Dula ran his eyes over her body speaking softly, ”They are greedy beyond measure.” [/b] Her eyes widened. XXThen Dula reached out, and touched her with his nose. Rather then step away from the touch as she had done last time, she let him remain like that, and take comfort from the slight touch. ”They would most certainly want you for your beauty.”[/b][/color] She blushed, and muttered, “Thou’s words art to kind, but thou’s eyes musteth be playing tricks upon ye. I be no beautiful, fair maiden.”[/i] She told him. She sighed and looked up at the heavens. XXHer attention turned back to Dula, “I hadth been much more, for where I hath come from. ‘Twas a kingdom called Alexandria. A beautiful place. But evil began to corrupt it. My parents died trying to protect my kingdom. But ‘twas to much of a risk to keepith I there. Sent down to… this land, I ‘twas. But I miss my home. ‘Tis so different here. I hath yet to learn the weird words of thou’s language. So similar to mine, yet, Thee can speak it more clearer the I. And I, well, remain dominant in my native tongue. ‘Tis easier to speakith this way. To me atleast. But still, the littlest of things speakith to me, and remind me of what it is I now lack. I abandoned my kingdom that night… My people have no king or queen. Not even, I their princess is there to helpith them.”XXAs she spoke, her love for Alexandria flowed threw her, and you could see tears shining in her eyes, she sighed, “I hath never told a soul, o’ my tale.” She admitted. The stallion stood close to her throughout her tale, swishing his curly tail over his back legs rhythmically. So she had suffered a great loss... so much more than he. She had lost her entire people, her entire family...
He nodded along, nearly completely captivated by the sound of her voice. He started to say something, but her last comment caught him completely off guard. Dula stuttered a bit, then stopped trying to talk. This just didn't seem like the best time... he saw, or at least thought he saw, a hint of tears in her eyes. He hadn't seen another horse shed tears since... well, since his daughter shed her last. She had vowed to cry no more when her mother died.
The white stallion stood back, still close to her but far enough that he could focus on her clearly. "You know," he started, smiling at her. "I think that you need a place that you no longer have to worry about being the only one. You seem like you need a home." He sighed, trying to read her face for any signs of emotion. "I offer my herd of Lake Rodocia as a home for you, however long-lasting or temporary you might wish it. You may refuse if you wish," Dula added hastily, not wanting to seem overbearing.

Waiting for the light of dawn XXTsura looked sideways at Dula, as she wiped the tears that had tred down her face. She hated to cry infront of those she didn't know. He spoke slowly, a smile crossing his facade, and aimed at her, "I think that you need a place that you no longer have to worry about being the only one. You seem like you need a home. I offer my herd of Lake Rodocia as a home for you, however long-lasting or temporary you might wish it. You may refuse if you wish," A look of surprise crossed her facade, as she looked at Dula. yes, she was surprised at his offer, but a slight smile formed on her maw at his words.
XXShe walked to his side, to gently drape her bao over his own neck, in a horse hug. Then quickly lifted her neck away, and took a step or two back. "I thank thee for thine invintation. And shall gladly accept, Dula." [/i] She said, her soft blue orbs were gentle as she looked at him. A soft, yet careful smile, if that is possible, was placed on her facade. She was truly suprised to get such a request from a stallion of this land, but it made her feel better to know that someone cared. XXTsura lay in the grass, and rolled over, using the grass to scrub the last remaints of the dirt from her coat. When she rose again, no mud covered her golden pelt. And now, it shown like a second sun in the light. Her bright white hair glistened like rays of moonlight, and her white blaze upon her facade was very bright, clearly white. She stood in her true form now, nothing hiding her real beauty. But she didn't look at Dula... afraid... you could say... of his reaction. The stallion smiled, his brown eyes displaying his joy plainly. Naturally, he was pleased to be extending his herd, but she meant more to him than just another mare. She was somebody that he felt he could grow to love, if circumstances allowed.
"And I thank you for your acceptance, Tsura," he replied, returning her embrace happily. "I will do whatever is within my power to help you feel at home."
Her true coat was every bit as gorgeous as he had been picturing since his first glimpse of her color. He pulled aside a few of the trailing fronds, rays of light piercing through the cover. Dula stepped out into the meadow again, dipping all hooves through the water to refresh his mind. This living water was so different from his lake, his beloved lake.
"This way, then," he said to her, taking a few steps South.
