Her reflection stared at her, gray, white, splotched with blue eyes the color of the sky above her. There were no other horses about, no that she could see, not that she could smell. Mostly, the air was thick with the comforting scent of grazing grass, thick with the breeze of spring, mixed with the thinning scent of moisture that rose from the waters below her. She could see tiny, tiny little fish beginning to surround her dark gray forelegs as she bent her long graceful neck. Ember snorted some, amused by their antics as they attempted to bite her with their toothless mouths. Such silly little creatures.
Her velvety lips tasted the sweetness of the water and finally the dry of her mouth was cured as she drew the liquid onto her tongue, relishing in its crispness, its replenishing effect. Ember sighed in content as she filled her aching stomach with what it craved, before beginning to step forward, wanting to coat her body with the coolness of the stuff, feeling the heat like some kind of blackbody. She hated the heat, and the day was indeed filled with the scorch of the blasted sun. It was days like these where she missed the valley, where she had been born and where the mountains had sheltered them from the cursed heat. But never the less, she chose to put up with it, although, her solitude and herdlessness made her heart ache even more for the long shadows of those mountains.
More then anything right now, Ember felt alone. She had been moving away from the northern valley for a long time, traveling alone, missing the company of her friends and family like some kind of thorn in her pelt. She was incomplete without some other horse telling her what to do, where to go, what to say. Although her quite and privacy was so much more respected when she only had herself to respect, she would rather the babble and arguments of the herd any day other the loneliness that was plaguing her. If only a stallion would see her and claim her! It would be so much easier to join a herd if her mate was already in it. There would be no aggression from the other mares, there will be no attempts to hurt and chase her. She would be safe under his claim. And at peace running with a herd.
Ember sighed into the water, now up to her shoulders, her hoofs starting to sink into the mud, looking down at the ripples made by her breath. "Whom I kidding..." She whispered, causing more ripples as her breath touched the sensitive yet still ponds surface. "No stallion would claim me. I'm too insignificant. I'll never find a herd..."

The only thing he had in-mind was a mare. A mare gave foals and company. Plus pleasure. Foals also mean't the future of Land and the Elements. He wanted a son more than ever, but of course..he needed a mare and without a mare what could he do? But so far there was no mares without a stallion at this moment. He felt as if he had come to this land just to scan it. Nothing more. Nothing like capture a mare. He could steal a Mare and keep her. But then the other stud would do something to him. Not like he was scared just because he didn't was land taken or anything. But there mostly were Fire horses and stuff. No Earth horses. But he knew that maybe he could love a diffrent type of horse and breed with them....but then he could never see her again or the foal.
The meadow wasn't far off now and the Stallion felt reckless to gallop home as he knew there wouldn't be a Mare. But he thought it was worth to scan that godforsaken land. He sighed and lowered his cranium and grazed. His mind filled with thoughts of what to do and soon he carried on. It was worth a shot. What did he have to get back to? An invisable herd maybe? Haha. Soon his flints became invisble as the mud came up to his knees. He stopped and looked around for a dry place. He wadded over in the chest height mud to a large bank and jumped onto the dry land and cantered up to the bank and stood still and watch the mud rejoin together and he looked taken aback and lowered his cranium and walked over the mud. It wobbled like jelly and he jumped off again and watch it wobble.
He lept over the dry land and onto the mud and snorted and his hazes lit with fear as it went up to his neck. He yelped a little and tried to climb out. But without sucess. Walking around the pit he found a slope and climb up. With all his strenth he walked to the hill and collapsed. Tired and muddy he waited and soon fell asleep.
He woke up with a jolt as the whispering called. "Rannoch, your chance is here..." Those words had been speaking to him all the time when something good was going to happen. Like first time he fought off a Mountain lion and the words had spoke and then the roar of the Mountain lion. He smirked. It musn't mean a mare maybe close and it was his chance. His flints crossed over the ground and he ran in some water and washed all the mud off and soon took a track into a forest and soon dried off. Now there was the opening for the land so called the Meadows. The Stud walked under the trees and the light stung his eyes. His auds pricked. There he saw a preety mare, muttering to herself. He snorted loudly and edged a bit towards her. He bowed his head and smiled. Hello, I am Rannoch, whom may you be? He asked smiling.

Hello. I am Rannoch. The words had caught the fae by surprise, her long ears flicking back and her head moving up in a graceful arch to turn and look at the stud, her muzzle dripping with water. She kept her distance, staying where she was in the water, knowing full well the habit of these stallions and their force breeding, not wanting to become another lone mother. But she did drop her head some, a sign of her submissive nature as she thought over his question, watching him, eyeing him over like a art critic.
"I..." Ember sighed and rose her head up, staring at him wide eyed. What did he want with her? Of course, breeding. They all wanted breeding, whether it was breeding time or not. She turned to about, keeping her front to him wearily, already knowing she was in season, but not ready, not willing, to have some stranger mount her like she was a...a...
A mare? Her mind offered darkly and she snorted some, raising her head back to look him in the eye defiantly. She would not be his ride for the day, not without a proper damned excuse. "My name is Ember. Thank you very much." She said rather sharply, shocking even herself as her soft spoken voice rang strong. ooc: Short c.c sorry. Its too early to post 500+
