A foal her age couldn't survive alone. The thought ran through Naraj's mind as she took another step forward. She lowered her nose to the grass, giving it a sniff. The slight wind blew it against her and tickled her. Her ears turned, catching the sounds of birds in the trees. This was such a relaxing place to be, why hadn't she found this area sooner? Her negative thoughts disappeared as she lifted her head and felt the wind ruffle her pelt. She slowly walked towards a tree, and lied down underneath the shade. Naraj looked up, checking if this tree was one of the few trees she had heard of- An apple tree. Slowly getting up, she noticed a bright green fruit hanging off of a branch. This looked like an apple, except the ones she'd seen before were red. She reached her neck over and pulled it off. Once she had tasted it, she knew for sure it was an apple. She turned to face the watering hole while munching on the apple, her mind wandering. Her life alone had made her a very curious filly, always wondering about anything and everything. She loved to know things- it gave her this sort of.. feeling that she was superior. But there was one thing she didn't know, and she honestly didn't want to know. Did she have a family? Whenever her mind reached this subject, she'd tell herself Of course i do, even when she didn't know the answer. She was envious of the other foals; they had parents who loved them, and protected them. Her breathing sped up as she felt herself beginning to cry. Why can't I be like the others? she mumbled, self-pity flowing through her veins.

Naraj is not the only one present in the lands round and about the Glass Diamonds lake and she does not go unnoticed. An equally curious colt, only a few months old, had been wandering with his mother not far from where the filly rests, sampling the green but more intent on finding the next chance available chance to suckle. But as he is lowering his head to inspect the grass further, a small breath of a new scent touches his inexperienced nose. And it causes all his senses to wonder and search for the owner of said scent.
The foal catches only a small glimpse of the other, one of his age, through the tall grasses and behind the trunk of an apple tree. He glances at his mother to see that she is not alarmed or on the alert; that means there is no danger about. And then, with a big grin he bounds forward, doing some small hops every once in awhile to clear the grasses for better visibility until he comes near and slows to a cautious walk.
The sounds of Naraj’s quiet sobs reach his attentive ears as he slinks around the thick girth of the tree and peeks at the filly, large blue, green flecked eyes blinking. At first he doesn’t seem to be noticed and so takes another step forward, lowering his head to smile consolingly. “Why are you sad?” It’s a simple and innocent question, one you would expect from a foal. And being the considerate youngster that he is, he reaches out to attempt to nuzzle the crying filly, who he hopes he can make a playmate. ~Cursed Pirate
(OOC: I wanted to play Cursed Pirate for a bit now. I hope this post is okay. ^_^
