Twilight in summer was a glorious thing, the sky turning all sorts of shades of violet and vivid pink. Silver stars sparkled in the highest of the heavens, glowing shyly from behind wispy clouds while a sliver of the moon began her rise. Trees whispered to each other as fireflies rose from the grass. Eveningstar however was ignorant to the beautiful scene outside the caverns but that contented the wolfess as she wandered along the many tunnels and caverns of jewel-studded glory. The dim glowing of the gems made her pale silver fur shimmer, her molten gold eyes also glowing in the low light. Eve's pawsteps were nearly silent as she slipped down a narrow side passage heading for one of the more central and larger caverns.
Padding out of the tunnel, Eveningstar found herself in a fair sized cavern. A small lake filled the center of it, a second tunnel leading off into the shadows. Crystals of reds, purples, greens and blues lit the cavern with a soft multi-color glow, the waters of the lake motionless for there was no wind to stir the waters. Clear like a mirror, the lake reflected the fair fem as she approached, looking down to study her pretty reflection though not at all vain.
Looking around the shores of the lake, Eve found a boulder that jutted out over the still water. Padding over to it the fem sprang lightly on top of it, padding to the end and laying down. Her light sterling form shimmered with the lights of the cavern's crystals, her golden eyes providing their own brilliant light. Serene like a summer day and peaceful like a butterfly Eve was content within this dimly glowing place, seeming to radiate her own sort of light. Perched atop the boulder looking out over the lake, the fae looked dimly like the alphess she would have been, paws folded neatly before her and her elegant features accented by the dim light. Resting her head upon her paws, Eve let her mind wander, captivated by the peaceful beauty of the caverns, weary of neither wolves nor equines that may wander the tunnels.
