Sparkling angel I believe You are my saviour In my time of need
Blinded by faith I couldn't hear All the whispers The warning's so clear
She could have almost been described as part of the marsh herself. Unless you looked closely and noted the frantically flickering ears and wide, white rimmed eyes then there was no way to distinguish her from the swamp land that she had unwillingly wandered into. The filly, almost mare, was usually a dirty, disheveled sight though her pillars had managed to pick up what seemed to be half the bog, mud, plants and remnants of things that she would rather not name clinging possessively to her coat and seeping through to her skin while also adding unneeded weight to the end of her wires. How had she ever managed to take such a turn into this place? She should have stopped the first time that she had felt the earth shift unstably beneath her though something was pulling her into the realm, all her senses momentarily shutting off as she walking in with mental blindness. If only she had hit her head against a tree trunk and snapped herself back into a normal state of mind then she could have completely avoided this area but she had allowed herself a moment of stupidity and she was probably going to pay for it with her life.
Wide brown eyes turned back down to the soggy path below her, almost invisible under the shadows of the clouds that were slowly making their way across the moon that sat low in the sky. It had only just risen after the fire ball set. Had she really been here that long? She remembered her first fall was while the ball was at the pinnacle of its travels. She didn't remember much of how her time was spent here, trying to find a way out. She had grown so panicked that all her memories were blending together and she couldn't distinguish the true happenings from what her frightened mind had created.
A muddied dagger moved hesitantly from the stable ground it was currently resting upon, her pillar shaking fearfully as she gently placed it upon the ground further before her, haunches pulled in tight as she prepared herself to reel back if it gave way below her though it seemed she was beginning to gain a little luck as it managed to hold her weight with only a slight shift under her. She decided that if she continued to move in a straight line then she'd have to eventually come to the end of the marsh, after all, it can't stretch out forever. Can it? The thought made the short filly/mare shiver unpleasantly, the slight movement making her dagger slip slightly upon its footing. What she had hoped was solid ground turned out to be just a horrid trick as it collapsed below her, sending the femme into the murky substance before her. Her daggers hit the mush at the bottom of the thick water, sinking deeply into it as though something had grasped her and was pulling her in. Her chest tightened as the cold water hit her body, the air being forced out of her lungs violently and painfully. It all seemed to happen in slow motion as the much seeped up over her body, swallowing her chest, barrel rump, creeping up her neck and before she knew it her skull had been pulled under as well. It was as though time had now slowed to a stop, the muck around her suspending her animation, seeping into her harks so all she could hear was the thunderous drumming of her heart, rushing into her nares and mouth to try and block any possible air she could draw and the mud kept a hold of her fore hooves. Her mind was shocked, then confused, then blank and then the panic kicked in.
Back hooves dug into the muck which held her in place, pulling back violently. If it wasn't for the water upon her she would have flipped over backwards from the force she used though she just managed to free herself and her skull broke the surface that had stilled over with algae and plants. Her wheeze for breath throbbed though her water blocked harks, her chest convulsing as the putrid smelling air was drawn into her lungs. She knew she'd die here, she just had that horrid feeling at the bottom of her gut. Tears ran from her eyes as the water and dirty particles within it were washed away from her vision, letting her slowly adjust once more to the feint light. The water was freezing and it seemed that all her muscles had tensed in refusal to move. She had managed to prevent herself from drowning though now she was probably going to freeze to death.
Needles of pain shot through her body as the cold seeped past her coat and buried into her body, her muscles beginning to jerk painfully. If she was going to get out of the water then it had to be now. She closed her eyes tightly as she attempted to will herself to move. She felt utterly exhausted and the pain was getting so intense that her body was growing numb. A partial while of helplessness passed her lips, echoing over the bare land as she reopened her eyes. The clouds had moved from the moon, letting the silver light shine down upon the land. It would have helped her before the incident though night now she wished that the moon was still hidden from her sight. A few meters away from her though too close for comfort were two small glowing orbs. Her heart lurched in her chest, just at the same time as her panicky nature took over her mind. Her body twisted, fore hooves trashing at the waters surface in search of any solid land. It was probably the worst move she could have made though the only thing that made sense in her head at the moment was to get out of there and quick no matter what she had to do. She heard the water splash behind her and had her daggers not found solid land she would have just given up and let the beast drag her under, instead that slight spark of hope lit within her and she struggled to free her back legs from the muck at the bottom of the water.

Immortal woke from his restless slumber, both eyes were instantly alert. He had taken benifit from the dark night to rest his tired eyes, but as soon as the first rays of light managed to peek over the horizion, he was instantly awake, cringing back into the dark shadows he loved. It was an intense morning, he had come to the end of the forest after many days of travel, he was going to venture into the sun. So why didn't he just cross the bloody meadow at night? Because he wanted to keep moving. There were marshes only a days travel from his current position and that excited Immortal. It was a place where he could relax and venture into the unknown, possibly meet his death. But afterall, thats what he wanted anyway. There was no point in living, he already hated the warmth and happiness of the sun, crindged at its meerly presence and hated having company. There were no lights around for him to scare, so fighting with a monster was very appealing.
So he lept from the shadows, his eyes slammed shut in response, a throbbing pain thumped through his head as he exited the dark and entered the light. His lips were set in a straight line, he was determined to make that marsh by nightfall, weather he died from the light or not. His journey was hell, after reopening his eyes, he instantly sought the shade of a tree, racing towards it, resting then moving on only to be struck with the same pain in his head over and over again. Being numb just didn't work. Who would a thought the interior could be hurt so easily? Finally the shadows began to lengthen, streching their arms to welcome the derranged chestnut stallion. He accepted their invitation, walking willingly into their arms. Then, that putrid smell channeled through his nostrils. He inhaled sharply, savouring the smell and closing his eyes as he sunk into the cool slimy muck. But somthing caught his eye. It was a lone mare, perfect, maybe he would wait to avenge his death.
She didn't appear dark, the way she thrashed at the muck, trying to save death for another day was obviously a major indication of her alliance. But not everyone was like Immortal. He had been watching her from the moment she entered that muck. He followed her from a distance, his eyes keen. When she began to drown, he meerely chuckled. But the strange noises and weird monsters muffled the sound. Then, she saw two golden eyes. This set him passed the limit, his head craned back so far that not even the monster gurgles could muffle it. Then, he emerged, stepping right infrount of the drowning mare. His eyes were tense, black but ringed with a crimson tindge to make him all the more scarier. His voice was mocking but soft like velvet as he spoke. "Boo" and then before she could blink, he dissapeared into the darkness like some kind of spirit wandering the earth just for revenge.

Fea's fore daggers dug into the softened earth that she had managed to latch herself onto. The muck which had captured her hind legs was starting to loosen from her struggles, the water thinning out the decaying substances hidden there. She was almost free before the beast emerged before her, the splashing of the water around her and the echoed heart beat that pounding off of the clogged water in her harks had silenced any noise he could have made during his approach. She had to blink the water from her optics before turning her gaze up to the equine who had approached him. With the shadows that flickered across the land it seemed that the scars upon his face glowed like bleached bones, the red rimming his eyes alight like flames. Her muscles, already tightened from the painful struggle against the monsters of the marsh and the frozen waters, almost seizure below her drenched coat. Looking up to the beast he seemed at least ten times the size of any normal equine. Was he a beast native to this land? Or a walking corpse created from parts of rotting creatures that had met their demise here? No matter what he was, it scared the living daylight out of her.
The simple 'boo' was enough to normally make the femme jump unsurely though with her fear already having control over her mind, the sudden voice was enough to be equivalent to seeing the beast turn himself inside out. Her fore daggers pressed against the earth they had planted themselves in as she attempted to push herself away from the monster as quickly as was possible. She succeeded in getting herself away from the seemingly demon like beast though in the process she made a possibly fatal mistake. The muck sucked at her hooves still partially suck within it, causing her to flip over onto her back, the water swallowing her once again. The muck had released it's hold upon her hooves though the shock had driven the air harshly from her lungs. Ever since she entered this place she had a feeling that she hadn't drawn a proper breath. She hadn't wanted to inhale the stench of death and decay and now her air was being denied without her consent. There was a sudden sharp hot pain ripping through her left shoulder as though someone had forced a branding iron upon her numb skin though she didn't have enough time to register it, she had to get back to the surface. It was probably only a strained muscle anyway.
Twisting to get right way up again her skull once again, and hopefully for the last time. The pain in her shoulder was moving in waves down her leg, making it feel as though it was no longer under control though the adrenaline pulsing through her body helped her to force the leg to move as she wanted. She instinctively made her way toward the firm-ish part of land she had previously found, thanking in the furthest part of her mind which wasn't under control of complete panic, whatever supreme power there was that the monster that had scared her no longer stood there. Her front hooves dug into the dirt, shoulders straining to hoist her up (resulting in what would be unbearable pain down her left shoulder if she didn't have more important things distracting her right now) though she was caught once again. Harks flicked flat against her nape as she kicked her hind legs, having thought that the mud had clasped her again though they moved without difficulty...well one did anyway. There was an intense weight upon the right side of her rump and then the same searing pain that she was experiencing in her shoulder.
Her head turned, eye's already wide and showing white though if possible they would have rolled back into her head to show her utter distress. The teeth dug into her rump were almost as horrid as the sight of yellow eyes and the leather face of the water moster. Her lips parted to let her first scream of true terror for the day to pass her lips, kicking out once more as the creature death rolled. It's teeth slipped from her skin though not without leaving evidence of the attack. It took all her will to struggle up onto the bank, only managing a few steps away from the muck that had almost claimed her life before her legs gave way under her. Her left shoulder seemed to be nothing more than a few deep cuts though her right rump had a large patch of shredded skin and both wounds were bleeding profusely. Red gushes coated her legs and continued down onto the ground she had managed to seek, her eyes remaining open and wide even with the persistent nagging of unconsciousness that beckoned her. Her whole body was shaking and convulsing violently as she turned her head to look over her shoulder, a whine of distress growing in her throat as she saw the yellow eyes once again raise above the water as the beast moved toward her location.

Immortal watched from a safe distance as the mare reacted to his little spook. His chest rumbled with laughter as he watched her struggle. When she began to sink, panic wavered over him. He wasn't finished with the mare yet. But she resurfaced and he was sent into another round of laughter, untill it was broken by her peircing scream. There seemed to be something lurking in the water. Immortal wanted her to die of fright from seeing his scarred face, not of some marsh monster. They wouldn't steal his fun. He watched the animal death roll with amusment, but his eyes were narrowed into thin lines, his stance overly protective.
As she thrashed about, unable to get away from the beasts jaws without his aid, Immortal quickly stepped in. His invisible muscles flexed as he reached for her from sturdy ground. The green much was up to his knees, but his movement was swift and fluid. His neck craned over hers and he quickly grabbed a mouthfull of her mane, helping her get out of the water. When she was full out, he tugged on her mane and neck, pulling her into dark shadows that were created by the trees. When she seemed safe, he released her, licking his lips. The marsh tasted strange, the smell of death and taste of it lingered in his mouth while he stared at her, his eyes eager and probing while he waited for her to regain composure and the screaming when she looked to her right to see a scarred horse with grotesque crimson eyes, staring at her like she was some kind of trophy.
ooc; Excuse the shortness, I'm kinda low on muse for the first time in forever =P

Fea could feel every muscle of her body cramping painfully though at the same time it felt like threads were being ripped out of her and body parts were slowly being picked apart. It was as though the creature had seeped poison into her and she was being picked apart from the inside out. She wanted to stand, to be able to pull herself out of the muck and away from the monster, far away from the monster and this hellish land though she could barely inhale a breath without the thick stench making her lungs convulse painfully so just getting the demand to stand from her brain to her legs would be difficult with the frayed wires that seemed to keep her body loosely held together.
Her optics where locked with the marsh monsters, those yellow eyes seeming to hold her in a hypnotic stare. Her heart was beating within her harks, each beat making her wounds throb painfully as though they grew deeper with each pump of blood that tore rapidly through her. Her focus upon the monster meant that she once again didn't notice the stallion approach. Feeling the sudden harsh tug upon her mane made her jaws fall apart and a surprised and fearful squeal fell from her throat, the sudden noise snapping her out of the trance like state and allowing her body to react. Something instantly drew her in the direction that she was being tugged, whether the momentum was aiding her movement or her frantic need to get away from the monster that had attacked her fed that urge she couldn't say though her legs were able to clumsily move under her, managing to keep to her feet as she stumbled and tripped over herself.
Once the urging tug disappeared she once again let her legs waver as she collapsed to the ground. Her frantic mind tried to figure out how the hell she had managed to escape (unless of course she hadn't and these dark shadows around her were signifying the realm of shadows she had passed on to). Maybe there hadn't been something pulling her and it was just her mind which gave her a boot in the rump to get moving or it could have been a stronger force, an angel or guardian spirit which had aided her out. Her vision was slightly blurred from exhaustion and blood loss though it seemed to have slowed thanks to the muck caked over her body, though she managed to strain her nape to raise her skull, optics searching around her to further figure out the situation before that face she had only caught a glimpse of was sighted. Her whole body tensing, her head flicking back slightly from the pain ripping through her body though she couldn't make herself stand or even muster the energy for anything more then a weak squeal to express her fear.

Immortal relaxed, standing protectivly over the little mare, his eyes darted from each corner, focusing on one thing for only a few seconds. They darted back and forth, this way, that way, then stopped once it was found. The creature simply snapped the mush with a loug growling noise and sinked back into the depths, there was a small deer who had wandered in too far whick took those yellow eyes off Immortals threatining pose. For moments on end, he hovered over her, pondering on what to do. He looked over her little shape, then back towards the shadows. The sun was a bit higher in the sky, but under the shade of the canopy, it dared to enter.
He acted swiftly, his neck bowed to grab a mouthful of mane and neck as he attempted to pull the mare to her feet. From there, she sharply turned left and headed down a slippery slope. He had let go of her neck, and slid down the hill on all fours, crashing into the muck when he got to the bottom. With a frustrated glare, he looked to the top of the hill, and quickly jumped out of the way, grinding his teeth together to supress his rage. It was only a few minutes too the canopy edge, Immortal could feel the light seeping through the gaps, touching his shrivled and wounded skin with a warm light. He shuddered at the feeling, and turned to watch the mare stumble and fall down the hill, if she happened to loose her footing. Perhaps she would freak all together, rear so high and fall back into those eager jaws, just waiting for Immortal to turn his back. But, maybe, she would have some common sense, and follow the little stallion. Then again, that wasn't a very good idea on her behalf, and common sense wasn't very common...

Fea's gaze had settled unsurely upon Immortal's form which towered over her from her patch on the ground. She had momentarily forgotten about why exactly she had first been freaked, the scarred face of the steed in front of her taking over the image of the leather faced monster that had tasted her blood. It seemed that the rest of her body had been swallowed up by the muck below her and only her skull was left above the earth and her eyelids had been sown open so all she could do was stare at the beast that had....saved her? The sudden realization seemed to scare her more than the thought of the beast attempting to kill her. Why would it pull her away from the monsters jaws? Maybe it was just her frantic fear that made him seem like an associate of the monster though...he had disappeared and reappeared just like a ghost...maybe he was a ghost.
She seemed to have been dragged into her thought for before she could return to the horrid world around her, she was jerked back. A surprised squeal passed her exhausted lungs as she was yanked to her feet. Her body swayed dangerously, the world around her spinning violently from the sudden raising and the already thin amount of blood being sucked from her head. Her hooves were unsteady below her and she stumbled, attempting to regain solid footing though in a land such as this marsh, solid footing was only something you could wish vainly of. One of her fore hooves landed in a hoof print left by the beast and the already unstable land gave way. Her skull instantly shot backwards by instinct, trying to pull herself back up though it only resulted in the sharp bite of whiplash and the ground completely giving way below her hoof. She lurched forth, her feet tangling as she fell upon her knees, the ground grinding at her skin angrily before she managed to get her footing back under her, using the momentum on her side as she managed to gallop a little less than gracefully down the hill, her movements jerky and unsteady as the ground slid and produced obstacles to hook at her feet, the speed she collected too much for her to e able to instantly stop herself when she hit level ground, the sudden change in slope jarring her knees.

He squinted, the transparent clouds sliding away from the sun. It filtered through the leaves, making the stallion cringe into the darkness. His eyes were closed, blocking that pain that happened in his head, but the mare was reckless and distirbed him. So he watched her protest, then slide down the hill. The ground was alot firmer here, the meadow just beyond the row of trees. It was a very strange way for Immortal to see a mare off, to leave them without beind spooked half to death, but she was already half spooked, and half dead, so was she dead? no. Then, he will fix that.
He slithered towards her, his movement fluid and flowing. He bent his neck over her, his teeth clenched tight to supress a tangle of wispered words. "Follow the light." If she did what he told her, she would be to safety and be claimed by a stallion. However, if she was a dumb as she proved, then she would follow him, right into her own very trap. So as the next breeze brushed passed, Immortal left a dark trail as he sunk back into the shadows. There was a silent chuckle of laughter as he patiently waited for her to take the bait.
Immortal waited, under the shade of the trees. He wasn't going to follow her if she chose life instead of death, he had finally made it too the marsh, and he too would join the monsters and hunt the horses that happened to travel too far into the woods. The fog marsh, the small patch of land that Immortal traveled day and night to find, was finally beneath his feet. Those long shadows, blocking the light better than any cursed dark land, was now classified as his home and he wasn't about to leave it. But there was something tieing him towards that mare, he wanted to discover more, so he wandered back, following his nose and stood infrount of the mare blocking her path. His eyes were narrowed into a glare as he bent his ripped, torn and scarred face into her line of vision. "Why do you wander alone?"He was curious, being the cunning and evil animal he was and is.

The pain that shot up through the small femme's legs from the jarring motion of her hooves hitting the firm land soon became too much and her gallop came to a crashing halt as her knees gave way and she tumbled forward, scraping her knees and chest as she hit the ground hard. The wind was thoroughly knocked out of her, her lungs convulsing painfully within her chest as her nares quivered, trying desperately to pull air back into her. This definitely wasn't going to be one of the best days in her records. She had almost forgotten about the beast that had caused her less than graceful descent to this stabler land until he was towering over her, the silver shadows fluttering around her turning a deep purple as all light was shaded from her. The breath that she had just managed to regain was lost once again as she slowly rose her skull to look up at the beast. It seemed that whenever she was looking at this beast it was always from the ground. If she wasn't already timid around those of her kind, she would have been terrified to be around another. She closed her eyes tightly, her ears laying back in fear as she cringed under him, half expecting him to take another chunk out of her flesh just like the other monster had or possibly suck her soul out through her pores. His words surprised her and for a moment she panicked. 'The light' sounded like some sort of evil goodbye, like he was about to kill her and he was advising she follow the light to heaven unless she wished to fall into the pits of hell. Right now with her optics covered, the black and red splotches resembled the hell she felt she was going to be sent to.
Her harks picked up the sound of movement and she didn't move from her cringing location until she felt the horrid chill of being alone in an unknown place where danger waited in each shadow and a beast lived in every hidden crevice. Her harks were slowly revealed, moving over the land cautiously to make sure that she was alone. She was utterly confused. He had left her alone, alive? Was this some sort of elaborate trick and he was going to return to kill her? Or had luck just decided to join her side for once in her life? Legs trembled as she pulled herself to stand, spotting sunlight through the trees before her. Her heart lurched into her throat, her skin tingling at the thought of feeling the warmth upon it. If she was dead then she would have to follow the light anyway or back away into hell. No, she much preferred the light. One small, muck covered hoof extended with the intend to draw her small frame after it though her plans were ceased by the reappearance or...her savior or killer? She wasn't sure but now she felt like she had been placed within a circle. No matter what she'd do this beast would appear and then something unwanted would happen. She retracted her hoof so it planted itself under her, her gaze focusing upon anything but the glare directed at her. She didn't know how to reply or what reply he wanted and for all she knew she was speaking to a delusion bought on by exhaustion. "I've been alone for a while" She muttered, her voice a barely audible whisper that cracked with uncertainty and fear.

The chestnut stallion watched as the mare attempted to stand, attempted to scream... attempted to run. To be honest, he was getting a kick out of this frightened little mare, and continued to torment her. He began at a leisurly circle, casually tracing her contours with his muzzle, before his sphere got tighter around the edges, his soft brushes became harsh nips and wasn't the only thing colliding with her flesh. He brushes her side, filling in the gap between them, breathing his hot stinky breath down her face, neck and back. He suffocated the space between them, closing it in further and further untill he was beyond just gently brushing his side against hers. Like an animal circulating their prey, claiming it perhaps.
In a second, he wandered behind her, shoved her forwards and nipped at her hip. He wasn't one to force breed, just humiliate and torment with words and biting. "Honestly... are you that stupid?" Immortal was now at her side in one quick step, his face was in hers, dangling from above. He stared into his eyes, scrutinizing her. There were many stray thoughts rolling through his mind, he considered the odds, eliminated the positive and thought about his question to her. After a moment of silence, he grabbed a lock of her hair and gently sniffed it, before patting it back in place. "What would be your name pretty lady?"
He shuffled on his feet. Edging closer, just when she thought he couldn't get any closer. If she moved, he would move with her, reasuring her with his nips that had turned gentle. He sniffed at her nose, breathing gingerly onto her. They were away from the dangers of the marsh, but the outside world was only steps away. The forest was thick, but thinning to an abrupt halt. If she ran, he wouldn't follow her, unless she ran away from the light. Although, that would be a stupid thing to do, as the monsters were waiting eagerly for Immortal to unintentionally coax her into their waiting jaws. Her best bet, was to run, or just stay put and put up with his silly little games. But if the worry of force breeding came to her mind, she would definatly bolt one way or the other. But, he wasn't here for that. "Your name?" Immortal demanded quietly, his voice rough and sharp, peircing the strange silence that lurked throughout the marsh.

She felt as though the screams of fear that failed to pass her lips were clumping within her throat, blocking any air to and from her lungs and quickly making her light headed, strangling her from the inside. Her panic was heightened if possible when she felt the light touches from the stallion, each muscle that was caused to tingle unpleasantly from his touch bunching and flinching away from him. She would have been jumping away from him like an injured field mouse from the paws of a playful cat though her legs were jarred and pained. Simply the thought of forcing her legs to move made pain ripple continuously through her body. She shivered from the soft touches, screwing her optics closed tightly since she had no other defense but to ignore him though as the touches became nips and his body displaced her dirtied hairs she couldn't keep herself still. His breath filled her nares and made her twitch unpleasantly as she willed herself to move forward, sideways, backward, any direction that was away from him and for a moment she though her body had decided to listen to her mind though her stumble forward was only the result of the non-too-gentle shove from the beast whom had made his way behind her. The thought of force-breeding didn't make its way into her mind just yet, the most prominent though being her escape from him. She'd think about the possible consequences of him being so close when she had safely gotten away.
Her optics shot open as he spoke, her skull twitching in the slightest so that she could look at the beast from the corner of her eye, a sharp pain running through her skull from the strain on her sight. Stupid? Why was he calling her stupid? It was the smartest thing in her opinion to stay as far away from any other equine as possible. If she let any of them close to her then this would be the outcome and then ultimately...she could end up like... She closed her eyes again, inhaling a deep strangled breath as she chased away the bloodied thought. In that second when her past took over her it seemed the east had made his way to her side and ways playing with a lock of her hair. Her nape curved as she pulled her head away from him. If she couldn't get her legs to cooperate then she'd just make sure he couldn't go anywhere near her face.
His gentle nips and breaths against her velvety muzzle were scarier then the jaws of the monster he had aided her to escape from. She never trusted any equine after her mother pushed her away. She was the only one who had been gentle with her though once she had been 'replaced' with a new foal there was no one for her. Thus, those who are being gentle only do so until they can replace you and then you'll be nothing but pickings for the prey birds over head. His demand almost made her cringe, the sharpness of his tone."Fea" It slipped past her lips before she had a chance to think over her answer.
