A mighty beast that could grant you godly powers with a flick of his tail and no more effort. It really does sound too good to be true. Oh let me swoon, capture his heart and follow him to hell and back... My a**! Maybe some other femme would find such a myth intriguing though I couldn't give a d**n about such a steed. Well I could give him a little of my time though what he offers is much more appealing to my tastes. I have heard of many legends through my years though all have been of high horses with great bloodlines who captured each show and ribbon. THIS legend was something less believable though still worth my time if it turns out to be true. Laying somewhere within this vast desert land is my opportunity, my opportunity to gain powers that will create and destroy. I will master what I seek! No matter the cost to my soul. I will sell my soul to the devil if it comes down to such needs, if it means that I will be made more beautiful by the glow of power.
Each land that the snow hued femme stumbled upon seemed to be continuously stuck within seasons of intolerable heat. She wasn't much a fan of such temperatures. It made the air humid, causing her lungs to strain painfully in an attempt to suck any air from the hostile winds and even worse, it lessened her appearance. The heat would make her skin prickle unpleasantly and salty sweat would start to collect upon her sleek coat, trickling down her sides and causing her to flinch from the tickling sensation. It was seriously disgusting. Nare's quivered as she continued her slow movement into the lands, appearing confident and unfazed though she truly was lost and starting to panic slightly. She had come to this place after hearing a mere rumor of a grand beast lingering here. If that rumor were indeed true then she'd risk looking momentarily disheveled by the heat to be granted powers which could help her with her hopes of gaining powers others would envy, if in fact, it as just a rumor without a lick of truth, well then no one would have to know about her being here.
Jahina's hooves felt heavy as she attempted to move forth, the sand sucking at them hungrily and even with her light weight she could feel herself sinking into the earth. The light coating of sweat that grew thicker and heavier with every passing minute wasn't helping her feel any lighter. In her minds eye she could picture the claws of creatures reaching for her from the bowels of the earth, clawing at her legs as they clasped heavy metals to her joints, making her a prisoner to the hot lands. Somehow she felt she was indeed about to make a deal with the devil, that or her mind would simply melt within her skull from both the physical and mental stress she had placed upon herself.
Dark eyes narrowed as she stared into the distance. The air around her felt like it was on fire and it seemed anything from a foot or more away from her danced behind a veil of heat waves. There wasn't even a single breeze to make the heatwaves sway or to relieve any warmth from the young femmes body. It seemed everything was against her, the land weighting her down and making her knees shake unsurely and sweat dripped into her eyes, making her vision even more horribly blurred. She was beginning to thoroughly hate the lands that trapped the heat and made her suffer within its own oven. Nare's flared in partial distress and partial anger as she decided she'd move no further into the land. A few more steps and she may never be able to find he way back to a more comfortable land. Jaw unlocked to let a high pitched demand into the air, her call ringing over the empty lands, weaving through the heat waves to seek the ears of the beast she hoped did linger her, or she may be proved a fool (a dead fool if she didn't get out of the heat and find liquid soon). "If here lingers a beast that commoners speak of then I demand he show himself to hear my request!" Her voice was slightly strained from the dryness of her mouth and throat, her words cracking slightly though it didn't lose any of her self-superiority or seductive feminine tone.
Character: Jahina Questing for: Wind Beginner Why seek this?: Wind can ultimately be the strongest power to manipulate element or creatures. She seeks to be the most dominate equine within the lands, to have herself recognized as both the greatest beauty and the most talented leader. Whoever could deny the envy and want directed toward a powerful beauty?

A limbo is what he had felt himself in, drifting...drifting over a conscious dream while yet numbed by, not a weariness, but a weight of servitude. If Jahina thinks her a prisoner of these lands, she would not last under the lash of Komi's master, free to come or go as it suits her while he is stuck here, tethered to the oar of this god-forsaken, waterless slave ship. Oh, he can be poetic at times, though nobody ever sees his true talent that lurks behind the wide madness that are the pools of his silver voids. He just wishes to be free, free from this accursed land and from serving these pathetic creatures coming to beg him for a piece of his strength. How dare they...
A voice rings out and he looks down upon the lone mare sinking in his sands, way down as if he were floating upon a cloud. He watches her wearily, pausing for a moment as if just waiting for her to leave and him to be rid of her. He would very much like that, but the vixen doesn't move and with a sigh that forms a wind upon the land to toss the visitor's mane, he disappears in a swirl of sand. God, how he hates sand...
The air warps around Jahina, colors melting and fading and blending until suddenly she is standing upon a lush mountain, a clear stream babbling on just a few steps from where she stands. It's burble is crisp and it's smell so real that possibly...maybe...is it real? A stallion steps forth from around a rocky bend, his coat black, violet swirled gleaming in the sunlight from above, mane and tail tucked by a mild breeze as he lowers his head to sip noisily at the water's edge, completely ignoring the mare.
'Have you truly come to seek me?' A heavy sigh echoes through her mind with the voice. 'Very well, then.' The brute lifts his head and stares with a calm and blank expression at the femme. There is expectancy there, but no words leave his lips, a little water dribbling from his chin. ~Komi

Jahina's chest swelled as she inhaled a breath, the dry bitterness of the air around her made her lungs ache as though she had just inhaled her own weight in smoke. She felt as though this struggle to breath was all in vein, the air void of any life that could keep her heart beating. The strain on her lungs and the deprivation of healthy oxygen made her head spin unpleasantly. It felt like the land was strangling the life out of her.
Her lids closed, hiding her orbs from the burning land around her. They felt dry, as though all the water had been sucked out of her. She was beginning to regret coming here, if there was a guarantee that she would gain power over an element or even another creature then she wouldn't have been thinking or backing away though now that her body was being strained from everything around her and it seemed that no beast lingered here she was staring to feel like a down right fool.
Lids opened to show displeased brown orbs, her glare cold and stern as though she could freeze over the land and relieve herself from the dry heat. Her teeth were now aching as she clenched her jaw, harks settling back onto her skull in anger. She wanted to scream out her frustration, to swear the living hell out of the non-existent gold-like beast that had pulled her into a wild goose chase though if she wasted her energy on such bouts she'd probably die of some form of heat stroke. Once she got out of the damned place then some poor small creature was going to be the victim of her wrath.
Her wires whipped her sweat soaked hide, ridding it of the pests that had decided to settle upon it. Dagger rose to the air, appearing as though she were going to continue walking though instead it drove down back into the sand. She didn't care if she looked like a foal having a hissy fit when it didn't get what it wanted. She was spoiled and she knew it but she deserved everything she wanted! Muscles bunched beneath her darkened hide, preparing to move her off until an anomaly kept her still. Through the still heat the strong breeze was a welcoming change. It grasped aggressively at her mane, ripping it up from her nape where it had been plastered down and tossing it to the sky. She could almost ignore the sand particles that stung at her skin like multiple blood suckers though the pain it caused to her delicate facade was too much for her to handle so she reluctantly turned her head away from the winds.
As soon as the unexpected winds kicked up they vanished and brown orbs were slowly revealed to the earth once more. She expected to see the land that she was spiting mere minutes ago though what met her gaze made her heart lunge longingly. It was as though she had been set free from her shackles, released into a land where no heat or harsh particles could get her. Nostrils twitched as they picked up the scent of water, her skull turning to face the source and she once again became aware of how uncomfortably dry her mouth was. This must have been an illusion bought on by the heat though at the moment she couldn't give a damn. Even if she could just trick her mind into releasing her from this heat induced exhaustion then she would be happy. She moved a step forth, longing to reach the water that called her so sweetly though her attention was rudely snatched away.
Nares picked up the scent of a steed and optics rose to his position. This really must have been an illusion for the steed that approached her was a swirl of colors not natural to any creature. She herself began to feel plain against his unique appearance and a scowl formed upon her lips. Who was foolish enough to make her doubt her own appearance for even a second. Her harks face back though flickered as she heard his words but...they seemed to be within her head for his lips didn't move. Okay, now she was certain this was all an hallucination. She may appear crazy to any seeing if she started speaking to herself in an imaginary scenario though if she was dreaming this she was already passed out or dead. "You are the beast whom holds powers over elements? I feel this is all a vivid vision bought upon by stress and heat" She muttered lowly.

The stag simply stares for a moment as she speaks before stepping back and out of the way of the mare's reaching the water should she care for a drink. But he won't offer. She'd take it upon herself to make herself at home if it so pleased her, he knows this for sure. But a smirk is playing darkly upon his lips as she speaks and he shakes his head. Was he answering her or was it a simple physical gesture of no consequence? No, he's about to speak. His lips part and after an intake of breath words drift forth over his tongue to land upon her ears.
"It is a vivid vision, but it's been made real. You so desired something to this nature, did you not? Such a pampered lady should be used to ones giving her what she wants. Go on, then, drink, lest it disappear and tell him...what did you come here for? What is it that you seek from Komi?" he asks, talking about himself in the third person and blinking calmly as if it were normal. Not the most sane mammal on this side of the earth, but define sanity. There is no such thing just as much as there is no such thing as normal. ~Komi

Hark's seemed to lighten off her skull as the beast spoke, actually spoke this time with moving lips, voice and all. She moved forward slowly, still feeling the exhaustion of her body, well rounded daggers shaking slightly as they were lifted from the firm earth below her. She was still not completely convinced that this was real though she had taken the risk of speaking to the beast so she may as well play out this role play that had been set up before her. She came to a cease before the waters edge, nares quivering as they pulled in the lusted for scent, her tongue tingling as it waited to be doused. Black velvet muzzle lowered itself to the reflective surface, lips parting to allow her to suckle the liquid through her teeth, no unsophisticated sound coming from the action. The water ran soothingly down her throat, making her feel more confident with using her voice once more though once it reached her stomach it churned painfully.
Ignoring her twisting gut she rose her skull, tongue tuning over her lips to catch any stray strands before they could run down her chin. She took her time to examine the stallion before she'd give him her reply. She wasn't expecting a beast of such rumored power to be so...supplying to her. Well, her shallow side expected everything to be handed to her upon a silver plate though there was that lick of common knowledge, hidden before her vanity and self-obsession that had expected the beast to treat her like a commoner and test her anger. "Komi" She rolled the name over her tongue as though she had forgotten her request and needed to refresh her memory on why she had taken this dangerous trek. "I came to seek powers beyond a commoners reach. To manipulate the wind and air that surrounds every creature. Is such a request something you can fulfill or was what I heard indeed only rumors?" There was not more strain or cracking within her voice now that her throat had been watered, leaving it silken and smooth though still with a sharp edge that could easily be turned upon ears.

The beast nods his head in understanding and then his expression turns to one of thought as he contemplates her request and a task that he should give her. She must be worthy of being granted this power of wind that she so seeks and must be tested. This mare may be pretty, but Komi does not so easily fall for a pretty face as some others. Besides, he has responsibilities and those outweight his own personal desires and feelings. "Very well, but first you must complete several tasks that involve you bringing me a few items of my desire. Only then am I allowed to grant you the power of which you see. Bring me moss from the Fog Marsh and to Burning Peak you must go to retrieve a volcanic rock. Return here with these things and call for me. I will appear again." Everything disappears in a steady swirl of sand and the equine is gone. ~Komi
(OOC: I'm guessing you know the drill. Post an IC post in both places retrieving the item and post back here (IC) with the URLs of the quest threads.)

It was the center point of the dark hours when Jahina finally made it back to the desert where her quest had been issued. It had taken a few days for the travel between the three lands and those days had obviously taken their toll upon the mare. Her determination had caused her to lose hours of sleep on her travels and her already slim weight had plummeted though her body state was not visible under the layers of muck she had accumulated from the marsh and volcano and everything else in between. The only thing she had enjoyed throughout her whole journey was getting back here with her task completed.
The sucking sand at her hooves was nothing compared to the sucking monsters in the marsh and the chilly desert night wind was a welcome relief compared to the heat from the lava land. This land seemed like heaven compared to where her quest had taken her. She lowered her skull to the sands before her and let the rock and moss fall from her mouth. She had grown used to the feral taste that lingered past her lips so no longer felt the need to silently curse it.
She was unsure of how far into the land she had traveled on her first visit here though the beast said that all she had to do was call and he would appear. Her mind was too exhausted to worry about him not appearing, she set her thoughts onto what she was going to be rewarded with for all her troubles and that kept her upright on her trembling legs and gave her enough strength to call out the beasts name. "Komi!". Her voice was forced, aching her lungs with the air she had to use to create such volume. She wouldn't utter any more words until he appeared and was close enough for her to speak in a whisper since she highly doubted that she could use any more strength for words.
Her gaze stared blankly out into the darkness before her, pupils small as the land came in and out of focus. She had obviously pushed herself too hard though she never really knew when to stop. She'd only halt her fights once she gained what she wanted and she wouldn't let herself collapse into the void of unconsciousness until the beast who dwelled here granted her the powers that she had requested.

(OOC: Stop apologizing, Dazi. Your post was grand, grand.) BIC: He had been waiting for her, this entire time he had watching for her to return. Face it, he has no life besides the one he is trapped in. The highlight is getting to talk to someone once in awhile when they come to suck power out of you. Okay, that is a good thing? The sun must really have his brain boiled in his head, he thinks with a sarcastic chuckle as he rests his head upon a pillow of nothing, simply existing as a floating entity across the sky. And still he waits. He had drifted into an unconscious state a little while ago when he hears his name called in a familiar note. Without a second thought her hesitation, he heads off in that direction. A small gust of breath and he appears, walking up behind Jahina. He comes to her side and lowers his head to nudge the two pieces she had brought him. Satisfactory, yes. She had done well, considering her stuck-up nature. She had gotten down and dirty and so Komi guesses that she should be rewarded for the muck caked onto her pelt. "You were successful," he states blankly. He looks towards the sky and closes his eyes. A wind picks up, or what appears to be wind, a visible swirl through the darkness, practically glowing in some mystical light. It moves about, wild and free for a moment before being directed at the mare. It strikes her in the chest and melds into her body, disappearing completely, with only a cool sensation breezing through her. "You are granted the power of wind." ~Komi (OOC: Blah)

Through the silence of the dark desert she could easily hear the approach of the other, well she should have easily been able to hear the approach of the other if there wasn't a deafening ring in her harks from both exhaustion and the possible infection that had started the manifest within her from the large amount of disgusting muck that had been ingested into her body. Her gaze moved quickly to the beast as she felt him come up beside her, her gaze having vaguely adjusted itself to the darkness, letting her see his dark form and almost glowing wires. She felt the urge to roll her eyes and spit out some sarcastic retort though she was struggling to hold herself up, let alone get her mind working properly to strong together some useless, bitchy words. She thought the exhaustion had finally taken its toll upon her as the visible wind came into her sight, a delicate hoof moving back unsurely as he came to her. When it hit her she closed her eyes, expecting something along the lines of outrageous pain or even death though the cooling sensation was actually quite welcome. A soft sigh left her lips at the relaxing feeling, her eyes opening as she looked to the beast and nodded her head lightly in thanks, her voice having left her tounge for the moment.
