The desert heat was an unwelcoming place for dark colored horses but nonetheless a single elegantly figured stallion made his way through the restless sands. Hot, dry wind whipped at his mane and particals of sand made his skin itch and eyes burn uncomfortably. Still, Fantom trekked on in silence, not voicing his complaints against the whirling sands because there was no one to hear and therefore it would do him no good to complain. That was also accounting for the fact that Fantom was not a vocal horse by nature. He endured the sand on his skin, the heat on his back and constant tugging on his mane and tail as he trekked through the scorching sands.
Fantom paused at the top of a dune, garnet optics searching through the creature he sought, the Guardian Komi, giver of powers and quests. With the recent acquirement of a herd, mate and potential foal Fantom knew he had to make sure he could protect those that trusted him to take care of them. He was entrusted with lives now that were not merely his own and there were darker forces that could potentially turn against him such as the former queen, Mozart, bitter and angry about her mate's death and Fantom's claim upon her lands under the ancient laws. Fantom had spent many days pondering going into the desert and leaving the lands in his beloved's care but he trusted her. Banshee could handle herself alone and he would go Komi's task as quickly as he could to return to her.
For many days he had pondered what power to ask of Komi and had made his decision based on a former love and a love he harbored now. Fantom had a deep love of water, whether it be from the rain, the sea or simply a little trickle of a creek. Water was a soothing element to Fantom but he also know it's deadliness. If he could become a sufficient user of the power, Fantom was sure he could protect his herd.
Tossing his head, Fantom let out a beckoning neigh, looking for the approach of the mysterious Guardian. As a loner he had heard of Komi's strange ways and was weary, apprehensive of what to expect from the ageless stag.
Character: Fantom Questing for: Water beginner Why seek this?: Because Fantom has always had a deep love and affinity for water as an element and it would do him good as a leader to have some sort of element to help protect his herd.

Gentle breeze blew the golden tassles of the black purple swired brute. His nostrils flaring breathing in the precious scent of the on approaching now. This time this one was a male which was abnormal lately he had found power hungry females either wanting to take over something or simple wishing to improve their look those she did think they needed help even though in his own mind he needed help since he was always switching personailites and alliances making horses and wolves alike fear him or think him mad or nice. It was interesting he wouldnt mind meeting himself someday but for now he was stuck in these illussive desert which grew slightly booooring. He lifted his large throughbreed crossed with mustand head bringing his silver eyes to the horse with the black body with flaxen mane and tail. It was the first time someone had actually caught him being bored but Komi smiled and made them disappear into a swirl of sands finally coming to a stand still on a beach. Komi smiled " I hope you like the ocean cause I do and for now hello I am Komi what do you wish of me" he asked carefully his eyes careful.

Garnet-red eyes fixed onto the purple and black stallion but Fantom hid his surprise. He had seen stranger within his own lands though he admitted to his own mind that the horse's eyes were unusual, silver and ageless in their intensity. The sand being tugged by the wind seemed to speed up, whirling up around Fantom and his sudden companion. Fantom closed his eyes and ducked his head down to avoid getting sand in his eyes which was painful and he had heard could lead to blindness. When he felt stillness around him, Fantom opened his garnet eyes and felt his heart jump.
The scorching desert was gone and replaced with an ocean shore, not unlike where he had met his queen, Banshee. Without thinking Fantom took a step toward the rolling waves, the constant rolling thunder of the waves ringing in his ears and bringing back many memories of before his relationship with Banshee and before. Awoken from his trance by Komi's strange voice, Fantom turned to look at the unusual stag. He didn't raise his head arrogently or demand anything of Komi but instead bobbed his head in a bow of respect before stating what he had come for.
"I seek the powers of the water but something tells me you have guessed that." Fantom flicked his flaxen tail toward the rolling ocean waves not feet from them.
He had heard much of the unusual stallion standing before him, of his insane quests and the fact that he may be immortal. Something in Fantom's gut told him it wasn't unlikely. The stallion seemed to stand outside of time, in a place of his own neither for mortals nor the dead but chose to dabble in the lives of the mortal equines and canines.

" I smelled the sea upon your pelt and merely brought you here" he said watching the stallion. Komi was bored and wanted simply to get this over with "indeed all I require if of you to complete a task just one for it is simple go collect me water from the Diamond lake that is all I ask" it was very simple and he had grown bored really bored. He sighed Komi was in a depressed state so tired lately and yet restless and sometimes he wondered if his powers were being misused which he was sure they most likely were. "Well Komi is not moving from here anytime soon so go on now shoo I have to meditate" he said.

Fantom flicked his ears at the guardian's explaination but was surprised at the task given to him. Could it really be that easy to gain the powers, or at least, a little of the powers he sought? The strange stallion didn't demand to know why or even give him a difficult task. It was strange but Fantom wasn't going to complain, it just wasn't something he did. Growing up with humans all over the place had a tendency to make a horse both patient and enduring or it would make them insane. Luckily Fantom didn't fall into the insane category, or at least he didn't think so.
Bowing his head to show he understood Komi's task, the ebony stag turned and headed away from the violet and ebony stallion. His pace quickened, strides lengthening into the signature smooth gallop of his breed. It wasn't long before the sound of rolling waves and the feel of more compact sea sand faded and he was once more galloping through endless desert sand dunes. The sand whirled lazily around him, grating at his pelt. Banshee would probably notice but at the moment Fantom put Komi's task at the forefront of his mind. It wasn't difficult, not even slightly complicated like he had expected.
Somewhat disappointed, Fantom had to remind himself he was asking only for the minimal power from Komi until he saw that it was time for him to gain fuller powers to protect his herd. For now a beginner's status would keep his family safe until times of war called for a greater need.
