The white stallion scented the wind, his still-bloodied nostrils flaring. The Dark queen had been here recently, he could tell. But not a sign of Flying Heart. He had weighed his chances on his way here, and decided it would be better if they did not come at the same time. That simply would not do. Being of opposite alliances, the queens would almost assuredly not get along... Revair first, then, since she may not have gotten very far since her stop here.
"Dark Queen Revair, I request an audience with you!" he bellowed, throwing his head high and letting a brisk wind whip his thick green mane around his face. A tiny bit of a storm seemed to be picking up - nothing the southern stallion hadn't dealt with before. There was a slight chill in the air, however, sending a shiver down his spine. But he stood tall, awaiting the Dark queen.

Y E S, Revair has previously been to Echo Summit to run the lands several times just to please Namid. She did not expect to return for another purpose and so soon. Maybe if she had of waited she wouldn't have exhausted herself trying to find a single hair. It seemed ridiculous, but Revair really wanted to play with fire. This time, being a royal ment that questers had to get stuff off you. But who said the sinister mare was willing to give a strand of her lucious mane to anyone confident enough to ask?
With narrow eyes, Revair watched Oulaman approach. Her lips were pressed into a thin line as he gazed up and the superior stallion. Somebody had obviously died his mane green, but in that instant she knew she had gotten the right strand of hair and should hopefully be able to play with fire. So she glared, already knowing what he wanted but not quite convinced she should give it to him, and patiently waited for him to ask. She didn't exactly want to be bald for some stallion to gain powers above her, and wasn't giving up unless it was for a good reason.

Oulaman caught sight of her quickly, and waited for a few moments for her to say anything she needed to. Revair said nothing, but her glare displayed everything she needed to say. She was certainly not a mare to be trifled with, and he made a mental note to try not to anger her.
He bowed to show his respect, mighty head dipping slowly towards the icy ground. "I suppose you know what I would have of you," he said, adding, "I request a strand from your mane. No more, no less, as Namid has told me to do." He did not smile, but Dula tried his best to appear neither threatening nor overly dominant. If she was anything like Calypso, then she would almost assuredly have a hot temper. But... mares were known to be unpredictable, and he did not know this one well enough to pass any judgement about how she might react.

"There is a strand on the tree over there." Revair indicated breifly with her head. Her tone was bitter as she spat at the stallion, and pivoted on her leg to walk away. "Don't take them all, I'm sure more horses will be asking for some, so if they are there then I don't have to pull any out. " She grinned, turning her head around to face the king, her lips pursing as she did so. Then, with a flick of her tail, Revair pranced out of sight leaving her sweet aroma to trail around the trees.

He nodded, following the dark queen with his eyes as she left. Not too bad, really. He had expected more of a fight...
Dula moved over to the bush indicated, taking a strand delicately in his lips. He paused, frowning for a moment. Now he couldn't call for Flying Heart... The white stallion replaced it, looking about the clearing. Traces of Revair were slight, although he could do nothing to cover her odd scent. It was just a tad too rich for him. Ah, well. On to the next...
"Light queen Flying Heart, would you honor me with your presence? I require something that only you can award me!" he said, allowing the shape of the mountain to throw his voice to where it could be heard. The clouds rolled in faster now, and he fervently wished the mare would approach soon. He wasn't looking forward to climbing that mountain again, and certainly not in a storm.

Flying Heart "You rang," trilled a voice out of the middle of nowhere. Before the stag stood a mare, who had just give birth from her appearance.
"I am the Light Queen Flying Heart," she said to the stag, not at snotty. She was a good two or three hands shorter than the stag but she bore herself in a manner that displayed royalty and seemed to make the diminutive mare bigger.
She had no doubts that she had been called here for one of her beautiful mane hairs. She shuddered at the pain it would cause her but maybe one would come out easily. She really didn't want to give one up but it would be the right thing to do.
Then the wind shifted and she caught a dark scent. The dark queen had been here before her and she bristled visably. Her one true enemy had been here, there from a tree hung some of her mane. Well, her hair had been required as well. What was it with the guardians these days. Were the hairs of dark and light both needed? And what for?

He smelled her before he caught sight of her, the distinct scent of birth touching his nostrils. He winced rather involuntarily at it. Birth and death... the two were so closely related, really. His son... and the dead colt's mother... both gone, quicker than anybeast could do anything to prevent it.
"I require a hair from your mane, as requested by Namid," he said, and, anticipating a touch of curiosity, he added, "to enrich myself in the art of Water." The white stallion bowed his head quickly in respect for the Queen and new mother. He had always admired mares in their skill of life-giving and nurturing. Dula smiled, the sunnier aspect of his personality taking hold in the Light mare's presence.

So she had been right unfortunatly. She knew that it would be a bit of pain but well this horse was good, she could see that and knew that the water power would not be used against her too often.
"I will give you my hair, as you ask, on one condition. If any light of my herd requires one of your mane than you shall give it to them, without a fight or any arguing. If I find that this condition has not been followed, well next time you need a mane hair from my family you will not recieve it, understand?" she spoke softly to veil the threat. Withholding a mane hair from a horse that desperately needed it was not something she would usually do but she was not willing to part with one of her mane so easily.
She moved closer to the stag and offered her neck to him, waiting for the quick burst of pain and the loss of one of her mane. She wasn't looking forward to this but she knew that it was the honorable thing to do.

"Then consider me bound to freely give a hair of my mane to any Light who should ask," he said in agreement. This was, certainly, not much to ask. He stepped forward, breathing in her scent for a moment. Far too rich, too light for him. He suppressed a snort, trying desperately not to be rude to the gracious mare.
He took a hair in his teeth, nodding his head sharply so that it easily came loose. He bowed again, mumbling his thanks as best he could without losing this precious hair. He turned and pulled two hairs of Revair's mane off the bush, looking back to the Light Queen. "Good wishes to you and yours," he mumbled around the hairs, taking one last look at the approaching storm. Crud. He really should get going... he turned and vanished back down the small mountain, heading for the greater summit at high speed. He really didn't want to get caught in the likes of this storm.
