((OoC: For Aerona and any other wolves that'd like to hunt ^^))
He drifted onto the scene, enjoying the uncharacteristic late spring snow that lay drifted on the ground where it hadn't melted off yet. His paws were large enough that he could effectively snowshoe across the ice, but they became somewhat ungainly in summer. Wolf feet on a coyote's legs. He cursed his mother for being so indiscriminate at who she chose to sleep with.
Speaking of which... his new mate ought to be here soon. Aerona was fine enough, certainly better for him than the girl he left behind when he accepted what he was. And now they were hunting together for the first time... He'd told a few others about it, but doubted if any would show. But they'd do well enough on their own - he wasn't completely useless, despite what others often thought of him.

Soft lavender eyes gazed out across the field from behind a row of bushes. She watched, curious as a brute stepped across the snow, nonchalantly. Bird call interrupted the silence, causing the Fae to lift her gaze toward the sky. Soft, wisped clouds still lingered from the last snow-fall, scattered chaotically upon the vast blue sky. Three robins fluttered through the air, chirping happily. Spring had arrived. Alei's thick winter coat still kept her warm, for the temperature was still a bit cold to her. Yet, it had began to shed, and the sun did seem to be getting warmer. That was a good thing, she really disliked the cold.
Lowering her eyes again, she kept them on the other wolf. She wasn't afraid, she was just waiting. Waiting, for the right time. The brute took a few more steps, closer to her hiding spot. Now. Slinking from behind the bush, she emerged, her brilliant white coat almost sparkling with the snow under the sun's pale rays. Taking no time to hesitate any longer, she made her way right up to the brute. "Spring." She breathed the word, like a sigh of relief. "Beautiful, isn't it?"

A snarl came behind Alei. "Get out of here pup. You don't want to see me kill." Aerona strode up to Envy, her mate. She glared at the stupid wolf. Probably thought Envy was attractive! I'll kill her later. Aerona leaned away from Envy, her eyes resting on Alei's lavender eyes."Your brave, being so confident. If you had strode up, so sure of yourself, up to me, I would've ripped out your throat."
She stepped back to Envy. She really didn't want to spill the femme's blood. But anger could control her so easily... she didn't want to kill anything other than her prey. "Envy." she hissed, keeping a steady eye on the strange female. "Let's hunt."

"It's nice to meet you too." Alei barked back, showing no fear at the other wolf's threat. She was always ready for a challenge. Her lavender eyes quickly faded into a deep red, and they dared her to make a move. Taking her words as a compliment, a still friendly, yet amused smile crossed her face. She watched the wolf speak to the other, which was now known to her as Envy. She wondered if he was just as foul as the femme. Her life, eversince childhood, had been filled with wolves just as vile as her. Dangerous, and cruel. By now, she had grown used to their harsh words, and she knew how to fight. Getting into trouble seemed to be something she had become very good at. Getting out it, was just as easy.

Without thinking, Aerona launched into the Fae, aiming for her throat. She hit it precisely, and her jaws began to chomp down onto soft skin. She couldn't wiat for the taste of blood, the taste if her obvious victory. She clawed down on Alei, showing her how she fought. This was her mate, and her time alone. Stupid female. So this female knew how to fight. She seemed pretty fleshy and fat to Aerona.

Alei felt the teeth in her flesh, before noticing the air under her paws, as she was tackled onto her side. Under the heavy weight of the other wolf, and the harsh impact of the ground, she felt the breath being knocked out of her. Then, she felt it, just as she regained the ability to breathe normally. Adrenaline. Her favorite feeling. It gave her strength. Twisting, she lifted her hind legs to the Fae's belly, and kicked her hard, claws digging under her fur. She could feel the grip around her neck loosen, and thinking quickly she jerked, losing quite of a bit of fur, but completely breaking free. Before allowing the femme to bite down again, she pressed her front paws onto her chest and pushed hard...

Aerona felt the wet blood soak her pelt and the dull pain enter coldly. She didn't screeched, she bit harder down on Alei's throat. She clawed harder, worked harder, to kill the Fae. She didn't deserve a life, so Aerona might as well take it from her. Suddenly, Alei jerked free. Aerona snarled viciously and stood back from her, snarling curses.

Alei got to her paws, giving her pelt a quick shake. Cold blood, and saliva spiked the furs around her neck where the she-wolf had kept hold. Keeping her head high, but standing her ground cautiously, she raised her red eyes toward the wolf. Still, there was no fear in her expression. There was no need for it. Yet, the rush of battle still burned her in eyes, the adrenaline still surged through her blood stream. Her rib cage expanded with each engulf of air, as she stood, catching her breath, wondering if the Fae would strike again. Looking at her, she didn't think of this wolf as an individual. Not right away. She was simply another creature, one that may be friend, or one that may be foe. This one definitely made it clear to her that she was a foe. She wanted nothing to do with her, unless killing her was an option. Of course, Alei wouldn't let that happen. Discarding this new she-wolf, instantly, she'd continue her traveling, in hopes of finding acquaintances and maybe even a home.

Before he had really had the chance to acknowledge either wolfess's presence, the two were at each others' throats. Quite literally. Blood sprayed about, and he grimaced. Wolf's blood wasn't meant to be spilled today!
The black half-wolf snarled terrifically, his hackles standing on end. This simply wouldn't do, not if they expected to bring something bigger than a half-grown doe down! "Aerona, I'd expect more than that out of you! Attacking her... you don't even know her name!" Of course, she probably had her reasons, and he guessed that they might have to do with him. Jealousy, naturally... Of course, he couldn't call himself clean of that vice. He was, after all, the manifestation of that very Sin. And right now... Gluttony and Greed were clamoring for food. And food he would have. The two would simply have to settle their petty differences long enough to bring down something... a stag would do nicely, he thought.

Aerona stared at him reproachfully. "Whatever you say, Envy." she muttered, her eyes black and her mind spinning. She turned to Alei, "Sorry, for attacking you and all." she choked. It hurt to say 'sorry.' "You should stay away." her voice went to a low hiss. She felt like bounding away from them all, leaving stupid Penori and going somewhere a little more Dark.
"Let's Go." she snarled, and she stalked away, tracking a derr that she had smelled during the last minutes of he rintense battle with Alei.

Alei dipped her head toward Envy, her eyes saying thank you. "It was a pleasure to meet you both. I will be on my way now, I wish you good hunting." She grinned, and turned, padding off toward the east. A soft breeze whipped by, ruffling her snowy white fur, and stirring dried leaves off the ground, circling around her, lean limbs. The tip of her fluffy tail drug in the melting snow, spiking the hair here and there.

He let his eyes follow her off the scene, turning back to mate soon enough that she should have no reason for jealousy. One would think.
"Let's go this way," he said, going off somewhere towards the right of what Aerona was currently tracking. A group of smallish deer had passed this way, not too long ago. But now that it was just the two of them, he might have to settle for just a doe. The black half-wolf shrugged. Envy couldn't always get his way... but Greed had a way of manipulating things, and both Gluttony and Pride were on the other Sin's side.
Envy shouldered his way through some thick bushes, emerging onto a quiet little deer path. Yup - something'd been here recently. And they went... Right. He turned and smiled at his mate. At least they'd eat well tonight.
